Penalty for traffic sign prohibited 2016

The “Movement is prohibited” sign refers to prohibition signs and marks sections of the road and territory that are prohibited for any vehicles to enter. Unlike another prohibition sign - “brick” or “No entry”, this sign is never placed before a turn on one-way roads, although such an erroneous opinion can be found in many articles on the Internet.

This sign is usually installed in the following cases:

• to indicate to drivers the presence of a pedestrian zone on a given section of the road (for example, if the street is blocked on the occasion of some holiday or event);
• if the roadway is damaged and repairs are being carried out on it;
• at the entrance to the yards, it can be installed together with the sign "Dead end";
• at the entrance to the closed territories of enterprises.

Often this sign is supplemented by plates 8.3.1-8.3.3, which show arrows pointing to the right, left, or both directions. The arrows indicate the direction in which the sign is valid. For example, driving to the right is prohibited on weekdays, and driving in both directions is prohibited on holidays and weekends.

There are some categories to which the mark does not apply:

• disabled people on motorized wheelchairs or in cars with the sign “disabled driver;
• utility vehicles and delivery services;
• public transport;
• employees of enterprises or residents of those quarters that are located in the area of ​​​​the sign (you need to have an entry permit, certificate or passport with a registration mark in this quarter).

If the driver violates the requirements of this sign, then the punishment awaits him not the most severe, namely, the minimum fine of 500 rubles, or you can simply earn a warning. This punishment is stipulated in article 12.16, part one of the Code of Administrative Violations.

Such a relatively light punishment is explained very simply - since traffic is prohibited on this stretch of road, you will not be able to create obstacles in the movement of any vehicles.

In addition, if you wish, you can completely get off with a warning, for this you just need to be able to prove that you drove into this zone because you live in this quarter, or you are an employee of this enterprise.

There is also such an explanation of the action of this sign as “through passage” - that is, it prohibits movement along the entire section of the road. If the driver needs to drive in on his own business without leaving the zone of action of the sign from the opposite side, then he will not get anything for this, provided that he can come up with a serious reason, or even better, document it.
