The power of a young mind - the 8th edition of the Academy of Inventors has started

Sending a car into space, developing artificial intelligence or building self-propelled vehicles - the human mind seems to have no limits. Who and how will stimulate him to work on the next breakthrough solutions? Today's young inventors-innovators are brilliant, passionate and risk-averse.

Innovative thinking is currently one of the most sought-after qualities among people with a technical background, as evidenced by the growing interest in start-ups in Poland and around the world, often created by young inventors. They combine practical technical skills with business competencies. The report "Polish Startups 2017" shows that 43% of startups declare the need for employees with technical education, and this number is growing every year. However, as the authors of the report note, in Poland there is clearly a lack of adequate support for students in the formation of technical competencies in the early stages of education.

“Bosch is undergoing the biggest transformation since its inception thanks to the Internet. Using the concept of the Internet of Things (IoT), we integrate the real and virtual world. This allows our products and services to interact with each other and with the outside world. We are the forerunners of mobility solutions, smart cities and broadly understood IT that will soon have a real impact on our lives. To cope with the challenges of a dynamically changing world, it is worth raising children wisely, giving them the opportunity to access the latest technological advances and their creators,” said Christina Boczkowska, Chairman of the Management Board of Robert Bosch Sp. Inventors of Tomorrow

The complexity of current projects is so high that working on them requires the pooling of knowledge and skills of many international teams. So how can we support students in developing their competencies so that in the future they can, for example, send a rocket to Mars? Encourage them to experiment in science and teach them to work as a team, which has been the goal for many years. The 8th edition of the program, which is just beginning, is held under the slogan "Inventors of Tomorrow" and will develop startup thinking in children. During the creative workshops, Academy participants will be able to independently design a smart city, build an air test station, or get renewable energy. There will also be topics such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things or electromobility, which Bosch is working on at the forefront.

Through cooperation with leading research centers, program participants will be able to visit the ICM UM big data analytics center and the Wrocław Technopark, see how supply chain management is carried out in practice in an industrial enterprise, and take part in a hackathon organized by the Bosch IT Competence Center.

This year's program is being supported significantly and indirectly by biotechnologist and science enthusiast Kasia Gandor. Below we present the first of a series of videos in which our expert discusses 5 challenges that humanity will struggle with in the coming decades.
