Ski-Doo MXZ Summit 800

Ski-Doo, a Canadian snowmobile manufacturer affiliated with BRP, where you can also find Lynx snowmobiles and Can-Am ATVs, offers several types of sleds for different needs and purposes. So you can choose between working snowmobiles, sports snowmobiles and sports snowmobiles, or rather the already racing MXZ snowmobiles.

The latter also includes the Summit, which is not a strictly competitive machine, but is intended for extremists or. for those who prefer to climb a high and steep hill instead of rolling on snow-covered paths or jumping on a motocross track in winter.

At the heart of the Summit chassis or platform is the REV-XP, so it is a modern, lightweight and extremely robust design.

You will recognize the Summit from afar by its long rear end as it is propelled by a slightly longer track than typical sports sleds. At first glance, it's easy to mistake them for the popular but sportier MXZ line, as the only difference is the track and the ski. Engines, suspension, superstructure and plastic armor remain the same.

Longer track with increased contact surface provides greater stability and, above all, significantly more traction when opening the throttle valve. It is also noticeable when driving. The sporty 800cc Rotax two-cylinder two-stroke engine, capable of developing up to 151 "horsepower", responds with enthusiasm to the addition of gasoline, and above all, it never runs out even on steep slopes. slope.

The unit is tested, economical, invulnerable, and most importantly, it does not refuse obedience even in the most severe winter conditions. Are you concerned about the environment and nature because they are equipped with a two-stroke engine? Do not! Today, two-stroke engines are not what they used to be, they are much more environmentally friendly, and trust me, every forester pours more oil on the ground when he lubricates his chainsaw chain. Even the oil is such that it is consumed minimally.

The volume of the engine does not interfere with either the driver or those around him, as the unit is pleasantly stuffy, but fortunately not too much, so you can still hear, not just feel, that these are sports snowmobiles.

The driving position is perfect. A wide and high enough flat steering wheel with heated levers provides excellent control. Moreover, this position is tireless and comfortable, whether you are sitting or standing. The sled is very controllable and obedient, which results in a sharper ride at high speeds. There are no jolts or bouncing back and forth over bumps.

Compared to the shorter and sportier MXZ sleds, the Summit behaves more predictably, and above all, there is little to throw them off balance or veer off course. Not even a few successive slides several meters long, nothing bouncing or bouncing the rear to the left and right, which is otherwise the most dangerous scenario when sledding.

The Summit sled is a great choice for wandering snowy slopes in deep fog, thanks to its design and large tracks it won't sink into the snow or stop while climbing. If you are one of those who are attracted to the vast expanses and high hills, wholesale covered with fresh snow, then the Summit 800 is the right snow shoe.

Face to face. ...

Matevj Hribar: Very sorry.

For me, who is not quite at home on a snowmobile, the power is too much. I'm gas

dared to screw up to the end only when the terrain in front of me was uneven

and of course spruce, and even then the caterpillar of the “shovel” clings so well to

all the snow, which, despite the great length of the sled, the skis in front rise from

snow. The design has been significantly improved over previous models,

the steering wheel is mounted high, like an enduro engine, so that it can

also rides standing up. But as I say - if not on the white slopes

experience, think about something weaker to begin with.

First impression

Appearance 5

Clear lines and aggressive graphics, which speak of a sporty character, prevail.

Motor 5

Since it is two-stroke, it will be necessary to add oil to a separate container. More than enough power for steep climbs in loose dust.

Comfort 3

The ergonomics are sporty and good, so don't expect too much comfort. The seat allows the body to move and is not designed for extended sitting.

Sena 3

A high-quality sled is already more than tens of thousands in the basic version, and the price of more equipped test sleds was almost 14.000 euros.

First grade 4

Specific sleds designed for the pleasure of the driver, because despite the length of the seat for the passenger(s), no, but - who needs "luggage" during the action after the fog? As for entertainment, there are no comments here.
