How much does it cost to insure a car under CASCO, OSAGO, DSAGO

There are several types of car insurance in Russia. The owner of any car registered in Russia must insure his civil liability. It is forbidden to operate a car without an OSAGO policy. How much will the OSAGO policy cost?

The cost of OSAGO is the same throughout Russia. The minimum rate is 1980 rubles per year. However, it can vary significantly upwards depending on a number of factors:

• type of car and engine power;
• region of registration;
• age of the driver, social status;
• driving experience, the number of insured events in the past and the number of traffic violations.

Each of these factors has its own coefficient, by simply multiplying the base rate and coefficients, you can derive the annual cost of the OSAGO policy. For example, the owner of a Ford Focus, who lives in Moscow, who has not previously been in an accident, will pay about 4700-4800 rubles a year for OSAGO.

The maximum amount of payments under OSAGO is 240 thousand rubles, of which 120 thousand go to compensation for harm to health. Practice shows that 120 thousand is very little if you have caused damage to an expensive foreign car, therefore, the possibility of voluntary liability insurance is provided - “DSAGO”. The cost of the DSAGO policy depends on the amount of insurance payments - from 300 thousand (500 rubles) to 3 million rubles (5000 rubles).

In addition to OSAGO and DSAGO, a popular insurance product is CASCO insurance, which will compensate for the damage caused to your car, regardless of who is responsible for the accident. Calculating the cost of a CASCO policy is more difficult, since each insurance company offers its own conditions and the price of insurance for the same car can vary greatly - from seven to 20 percent of the cost of a car, in Moscow on average - 12%.

If we talk about the same popular Ford Focus model of 2010, which will now cost from 400 to 500 thousand rubles, then we will have to pay from 28 thousand to 80 thousand for CASCO. Many companies offer simplified CASCO options - insurance against certain risks, and the cost of the policy can be paid in installments.

Despite the fact that “CASCO” is concluded for a year and is quite expensive, this insurance is very popular. It is enough just to calculate a little how much a serious repair after an accident will cost you, and you will understand that it is better to pay the same 40 thousand than to look for an amount several times larger later.
