Grease VNIINP. Characteristics
General characteristics
The history of VNIINP dates back to 1933. The rapidly developing industry of the young USSR was increasingly focused on such an important industry as oil refining. Therefore, the emergence of a specialized institution dealing with the problems of research and oil refining has become a natural event.
For almost a century of work, the institute, which changed its location and name several times, managed to develop more than a hundred different lubricants and special-purpose fluids. Today, greases produced according to VNIINP recipes are in demand in various industries.
An important feature of the lubricants of the Oil Institute is a deep study of the properties and characteristics of the products being developed under various conditions. Long-term and versatile research acts as a kind of guarantor of the quality and high performance characteristics of VNIINP lubricants.
Common lubricants developed by VNIINP
There are several dozens of current developments at the All-Russian Institute of Oil Refining, which are actually introduced into production today. Consider only the most common products.
- VNIINP 207. Plastic heat-resistant brown grease. Consists of synthetic hydrocarbon oils with the addition of organosilicon. Enriched with thickening and extreme pressure additives. The operating temperature ranges from -60°C to +200°C. In lightly loaded mechanisms with small contact loads, it is recommended to use grease at temperatures down to -40°C. It is mainly used for the lubrication of bearings in electrical machines. However, it can also be used in other friction units.
- VNIINP 232. Dark gray technical grease. A distinctive feature is high heat resistance, up to +350°C. It is used for lubrication of threaded connections and during installation work. It is also laid in friction units operating at low speeds.
- VNIINP 242. Homogeneous black grease. Temperature range of use: from -60°C to +250°C. It is mainly used for the lubrication of bearings of marine electrical machines. Under normal operating conditions, at temperatures up to +80°C and at rotation speeds up to 3000 rpm, it does not lose its working properties for 10 thousand hours of operation.
- VNIINP 279. Grease with increased thermal stability. Created on a carbon base with the addition of silica gel and an enriched additive package. Operating temperature range: -50°C to +150°C. Moreover, when working in aggressive environments, the upper temperature limit drops to + 50 ° С. It is used in friction and plain bearings, for lubrication of threads and other moving mechanisms operating with small contact loads and high relative shear rates.
- VNIINP 282. Smooth light gray grease. Operating temperature range: -45°C to +150°C. It is used in oxygen-respiratory equipment. Used to lubricate moving rubber joints. Due to its unique properties, it does not adversely affect the air pumped through the equipment.
- VNIINP 403. Industrial oil, which is used as a working medium in metal-cutting and woodworking machines, as well as in other industrial equipment. Pour point: -20°C. The oil is enriched with antifoam additives. Well protects parts and tools from wear.
Lubricants developed by VNIINP are produced by several companies. And in some cases, manufacturers allow deviations from the basic parameters provided for by TU and GOSTs. Therefore, before purchasing, it is recommended to carefully read the characteristics indicated on the packaging of a particular product.
