Removing a manual transmission on a Skoda Octavia Tour

From time to time, in any car with a manual transmission, it is necessary to change the clutch, designed for the Skoda Octavia Tour at 120 thousand kilometers. This can be done both at an authorized dealer and on your own.

When replacing the clutch, you will need the following parts:

clutch basket - 06A 141 025 B;

belleville spring plate - 055 141 069 C;

pressure plate - 055 141 124 J;

retaining ring - 055 141 130 F;

clutch disc - 06A 141 031 J;

bolts N 902 061 03 - 6 pcs;

release bearing — 020 141 165 G.

Removing the gearbox on the Skoda Octavia Tour

To replace the clutch, the gearbox must be removed. To do this, raise the front of the car with a jack. Remove the battery, battery panel, air filter. Disconnect the shift levers.

When removing the switch paddles, mark their position so that they can be installed in the same way.

We unscrew the starter, engine protection and lower the starter. We unscrew the power steering tube from the gearbox, disconnect it. Unscrew and remove the bottom bracket.

Remove both CV joints.

Substituting several brackets under the engine and gearbox, unscrew all the screws that hold the gearbox. After that, the gearbox must be released from the engine.

Removing and replacing the clutch

We unscrew 9 bolts that hold the steering wheel with a basket.

After replacing the old clutch with a new one, you can install the gearbox on the engine, proceeding in the reverse order of disassembly.
