Tips for a successful motorcycle wash!

As with every trip or competition, you must clean his motorcycle before the next walk.

Here we offer you some tips, divided into 4 separate steps:

Degrease your motorcycle

First of all, it is advisable to start with complete degreasing. We recommend bringing along microfiber gloves and motorcycle cleaners. Apply the product to the most exposed parts such as the rear axle (rim, exhaust), fork bushings as well as the front wheel. Put on your gloves, rub it!

My motorcycle in the water

First of all, the place of washing is important. A shaded area is preferred so that the sun does not weaken the paint during cleaning and promote micro-scratches.

Then all you have to do is rinse the car for the first time. Be careful when using the jet, make sure the pressure is low enough and maintain a distance of 50 cm to 1 meter.

After wetting your motorcycle, you can use a shampoo such as GS27 Ultra Degreaser for fairings.

Then spray the shampoo on the parts to be cleaned. Wait a few minutes and start wiping up the sponge (without a scraper, of course!).

Finish off with a good rinse.

As for rims, a specific product is preferable. The wheel cleaner offered by Dr Wack is a miracle! It is self-cleaning… almost completely 🙂 Just apply it, leave it on and rinse with water. Be careful, for the rear rim, don't let the product get on the disc.

You can also use a wheel rim cleaner to clean the motor section. Otherwise, complete a good rinse so that there are no traces of the product.

Wipe with a clean cloth or chamois leather to remove any remaining water before moving on to the next step.

Washing without water

This is the same method as any other that allows clean his motorcycle. To do this, you need to use a microfiber glove for washing and another for finishing.

Moisten the affected area and rub in small circles for increased effectiveness. If you are a perfectionist, you can easily repeat the operation several times!

For dirtier areas such as discs, we recommend using a product designed for this type of service. Finally, use Dafy or Vulcanet block cleaning wipes. They will allow you to remove excess product.

You only have one step left and you're done!

Polishing and / or polishing

If you want to fix minor scratches on your motorcycle paint, we recommend that you use a product designed to polish damaged areas, such as Motul Scratch Remover.

Its use is simple. You just need to lay it on a nice piece of cotton and apply it gently to the polished surface. Apply moderate pressure to the cotton to avoid aggravating the situation.

When polishing, pay attention to the edges of the motorcycle to avoid other scratches.

All you have to do is shine chrome or aluminum parts by applying a polish such as chrome polish or aluminum polish.

You can also use the polish offered by Dafy to add shine to painted motorcycle surfaces (whether fairing or mudguards).

Finally, the best advice we can give you is to service your car regularly. This will prevent you from spending too much time there.
