Compare: VAZ 2110 or 2114?

Before buying a new or used domestic car, each car owner is often tormented by the agony of choosing between several models for a very long time. And this time we will consider a comparison of two models from Avtovaz, such as VAZ 2114 and VAZ 2110. And we will try to highlight all the pros and cons of each car.

I want to note right away that I had to operate each of these cars for a long time and I can objectively compare which one of them wins where and which one loses.

Engines of the ten and fourteenth model

In fact, if we take production cars, then both conventional 8-valve and 16-valve engines were installed on the cars of the tenth family. But on the 14th, for the most part there are only 8-cl. engines. Although in recent years Avtovaz has been offering consumers to buy fourteenths and 16-valve ones, of course, for an additional fee.

So, if you look at the latest modifications, then there are absolutely no differences in the internal combustion engine between these models, respectively, and the power of the power units will be at the same level.

Comparison of body rigidity and corrosion resistance

Here I would like to attribute a plus in favor of the VAZ 2110 and say that the body of this car is made more successfully. It is not only tougher than 2114, but also more corrosion resistant. This is not just reasoning, but facts that can be confirmed by many owners of both one and other models.

Under the same operating and storage conditions of the car, the body of 2114 falls into disrepair much faster than a dozen. It is also worth noting that the aerodynamic performance and characteristics of the tenth family are slightly better, which is why the speed of the car according to the passport is slightly higher.

Salon, dashboard and heater

As for the performance of the dashboard, then it’s probably a matter of taste and I don’t see much difference between these brands of cars. To me personally, 2114 seemed more convenient in this regard, although many like ten more. You can argue endlessly.

With regard to squeaks and extraneous sounds, the four loses a little to its competitor, and this particular model is considered one of the strongest rattles.

Now a few words about the interior heater. I did not notice much difference, although I used one and the second car in rather severe frosts. The VAZ 2110 seemed a little warmer, although, frankly speaking, these cars are far from such models as Kalina or Granta.

Suspension and ride comfort

Since the design of the shock absorbers and struts is 99% identical, you won't be able to feel the difference either. Unless at high speed around corners, the dozen will feel more confident due to the stiffer body, as noted by many owners.

The seats are more comfortable in the top ten, and it will be more comfortable to drive a long enough way, of course, the back will not get so tired.

For the rest, there is practically no difference between these cars, if you do not look at the prettier and more modern look of the VAZ 2110. After all, the same old and familiar model VAZ 2108 is taken as a basis, the details of which are still not only in the top ten, but also on more modern models such as Priora, Kalina and even Granta.
