Shooting on the go

The season of oriental tours continues. Here are some helpful tips!

When traveling to distant places, you have a wide range of topics to choose from – people, landscapes, or architecture. “Whatever you choose to shoot, don't get too hung up on your gear. Usually the best travel photos don't come from the best and latest camera,” says Gavin Gough, photography and travel specialist. "The trick is to determine what you want to show in the picture."

If you are planning a vacation trip, think about what you can find interesting there. Remember that travel is not only a trip abroad. You can also take interesting travel photos in your area - just find an interesting topic and approach it accordingly.

Start today...

  • Less means more. Try to take more photos of fewer things. Do not hurry.
  • Train at home. Capture your surroundings as if you were on the road. This is a very good exercise that will save you tons of money on airfare!
  • Tell me a story. Creating photojournalism will improve your skills much faster than creating individual photos.
  • Do not look at the camera screen. Disable automatic preview of captured photos.
  • Take photos! You don't learn photography by browsing websites or reading books. You will be much more likely to get good shots if you actually shoot.
