Supertest Toyota Yaris 1.3 VVT-i Luna

Toyota invited us to showcase their latest Formula 7 car and visit the factory. An opportunity that needed to be seized. But how to get to Cologne? By plane back and forth? No, it's easier, without waiting: get in the Yaris, and we are already in the Toyota Allee 1000. Well, there are still a thousand miles between them.

I was a little skeptical at first. A thousand miles one way and I was driving myself! ? But if Vinko Kernz (otherwise in good company) hits Sicily with Smart, I will become a stuntman.

Well, most who knew about my route thought I was cut off, but after two thousand miles in about forty hours (with regeneration stops) I can only show them figs. With an average fuel consumption of about eight liters (per 100 km), the Yaris perfectly withstood the difficult summer route, filled with all possible conditions.

In Austria, snow and sleet (on the way home), and in Germany - two rains (thank you for washing the salty Yaris!) And crowded on dry tracks, where, of course, the restriction allowed.

On my way home near Munich, I thought, “Hmm, what if something dies? And then he remembered Toyota's reputation for making durable cars. The test Yaris on the way to Cologne and back acted like a train in Tokyo and, to use words from Formula XNUMX race car tests, we had no technical problems.

The Yaris is a (suburban) car on paper, but it also goes a long way even if you don't make it in the spring. It also drives in the winter, but without passengers in the back seat, because then the trunk is big enough for a travel bag, a cooler bag, a sleeping bag, some shoes because of the movable rear bench. . and a liter of windshield washer! This one was very helpful to me!
