The question remains whether replacing liters with 800cc engines remains. See a well-thought-out marketing ploy in the MotoGP championship, or the engineers and racers have actually discovered that they can be fast even with smaller engines (which they've proven!). while aside. However, since racing has always been the site of development for series production two-wheelers, in the future we can expect 800 cubic meters of cars in showrooms under large NEW billboards.

But look at this in part: Suzuki has been offering a similar displacement two-wheeler (let's leave that distinction) since 1985, and it still insists on producing that sports car today. Apparently, despite the rough division of motorcyclists into 600 and 1.000 people, there are many people who are closer to "something in the middle". This year, the GSX-R 750 hit the road at the same time as its new 600cc cousin. See, and the list of innovations is really extensive.

The upgraded unit has a state-of-the-art SDTV (Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve) electronic fuel injection system and advanced electronics that allow the driver to select from three different work programs. As expected, the Gixer got a sliding clutch that is configured to only slip on rough gear changes, otherwise it still allows the driver to assist themselves when braking, even downshifting.

There is also a new exhaust system that has found its place under the engine, with a larger muffler ending on the right side at the driver's foot. At first there were complaints about its design, but soon motorcyclists got used to the new form. You can also admit that this issue is solved more beautifully than, for example, in the top ten Kawasaki.

If we look under the plastic parts around the head of the frame, we see an electronically controlled steering damper that cushions the front of the bike very well. Since the bike is not as aggressive as the GSX-R 1000, despite the large cavalry, the steering wheel remains calm even under hard acceleration and long corners.

The wheels, brakes, fuel tank and all plastic parts are new. Of course, we can't ignore the design, as the new Suzi has a very nice aggressive design and its sharp shape shows that it's a fast and modern product. The rear end, especially if you remove the license plate holder (which many owners do anyway, even though it's illegal), is one of the nicest in the motorcycle industry. In addition to being available in a color combination that caught the attention of young women, the bike is also available in the traditional blue, white and black.

Although he is a true athlete in both soul and clothing, his dimensions remain "human". "Human" in the sense that the seat-pedal-steering wheel triangle isn't as sporty as the Yamaha R6, but it sits fairly relaxed. We fell in love with it on a test bike, especially since we tested it on the road, and not on the racetrack, where we usually torment such cars. The two-wheeled motorcycle turns easier on the spot, the arms and neck suffer less damage, and even the wind protection is better than the competition. Um, competitors?

Due to the size of the engine, they are actually not. And it is his four-cylinder heart that convinces. Do you know? at six hundred we always complain that they are too weak at the bottom, which is especially noticeable when riding with a passenger and when you get into a turn with too high a gear and the bike refuses to line up quickly enough in the planned direction and accelerate to the flat. However, when the analog tach needle approaches the red field, the bike accelerates, just like the 900cc machines did. See just a few years ago, because of its lighter weight (it is five kilograms lighter than the GSX-R 1000), perhaps even faster. One hundred and fifty "horses" is not a trifle!

While riding the bike is stable and predictable, the suspension is great for busy road riding (as mentioned, we will test it another time on the racetrack), only for the front end of the bike it feels a little heavier and smaller. more manageable than competitors. The brakes are very good and not overly aggressive, wind protection is above average in this segment, and fuel consumption of six to seven liters per 100 kilometers is expected to be moderate.

The 750cc Gixer is 600 euros cheaper than the thousandth and 750 euros more expensive than its 600cc counterpart. Due to the volume and power, all three fall into the same insurance class, so it seems that a test bike for those who will be driving on the road and the race track is a better choice than the smaller one, and if you are not completely dependent on " horsepower ", also from the main" opponent "in the proposal of Suzuki. If you are seduced by a road athlete, this is definitely worth considering.

Marko Vovk: I have to admit that the first few miles of riding the new Seventy-Fifty didn’t feel the best for me as the bike was too heavy at times. But soon the discomfort was replaced by pleasure and the feeling that everything is under control. The bike's position is excellent and the unit gives us ample power at higher rpm, so we know this is not a 600cc bike. The only thing that bothered me was that there was a "hole" in power between 6.000 / min and 7.000 / min.
