Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus - TEST the range [YouTube]

Bjorn Nyland tested the Tesla Model 3 SR +, which is the cheapest Tesla available in Europe. He managed to verify that the real power reserve of the car is a maximum of 400 kilometers when driving slowly on the road. At a speed of 120 km / h on a single charge, the car drove about 300 km.

Recall: Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus converted to PLN, stands today in the Netherlands. about 210-220 thousand PLN... Compared to the Long Range AWD version, the car has a smaller battery (~ 55 kWh versus 74 kWh), one engine and lower range (386 km according to EPA; this number is always provided by www.elektrowoz.pl as real range). According to the WLTP procedure in force in Europe, the car is capable of driving 409 km without recharging - and this value will be good for city driving.

The price of the Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus is lower, but after the car it is not very noticeable. There is no subwoofer in the trunk, the radio does not support DAB, there is no surface photo layer in the navigation (there is only a standard map), there is also no traffic information - everything else looks the same as in the Tesla Model 3 Long Range.

After the first 55 kilometers, the car accelerated to 11,5 kWh / 100 km (115 Wh / km). However, for many viewers of Bjorn Nyland, the Tesla Model 3 audio test was more important. the bass was still nice and deep - and this is without a subwoofer! Only at the deepest bass could we hear some shortcomings in the range.

25 kilometers spent on 105 percent of the battery charge with a consumption of 11,8 kWh / 100 km (118 Wh / km). When driving this type of battery, the capacity should be enough to drive more than 400 kilometers if we decide to completely discharge them. However, on a quick reckoning of about 220 kilometers, Nyland calculated that the machine has a power not declared by Elon Musk ~ 55 kWh, but rather about 50 kWh - at least a usable capacity that can be used while driving. These calculations were confirmed after the end of the tests.

After 3:40 hours of driving, the car covered 323 kilometers with an average consumption of 12,2 kWh / 100 km (122 Wh / km) and 20 percent remaining battery capacity. Came to the charging station after passing 361,6 km after 4:07 hours of driving. The average energy consumption was 12,2 kWh / 100 km. (122 Wh / km), which means that the Tesla Model 3 uses 44 kWh of energy.

Hence, it is easy to calculate that:

  • Net Battery Capacity Tesla Model 3 SR + only 49 kWh,
  • at 90 km / h the actual range of the Tesla Model 3 SR + is 402 km. - provided, of course, that we discharge the battery to zero,
  • at 120 km / h, the actual cruising range is about 300 kilometers.
