Tesla recalls over 7,000 Model X vehicles due to non-inflating airbags

Tesla is facing another recall that adds to the list of more than 20 reviews. This time, the affected models are the 2020 and 2021 Tesla Model X due to faulty airbags that do not inflate, which can seriously endanger the lives of drivers.

Tesla is recalling 7,289 front side airbags that may not deploy in a crash. This recall is for 2021 and 2022 models.

Tesla to replace airbags

It's not entirely clear what problem with the Model X's airbags could cause them not to deploy, but the recall fix includes having the airbag units replaced by Tesla technicians. Since this is a recall, Tesla will do this work at no cost to the vehicle owner.

Starting in June, Model X owners will be notified

Tesla plans to start notifying owners of affected vehicles by mail around June 7th. If you believe your vehicle is one of the vehicles covered by this recall and have additional questions, you may contact Tesla Customer Service at 1-877-798-3752 and submit your review SB-22-20 -003.
