Test: Honda CBF 1000 F

CBF 1000 is Autoshop old friendbecause we tested it at least three times: as soon as it entered the market in 2006, together with competitors (where it took first place in 2007!), together with its 600 cc counterpart (in 2008) ... CBF 1000 his colleague Matjaz Tomažić was also driving, and just a few days ago I drove him around Ljubljana when we picked up and returned test bikes. The driving experience is always the same: the engine only lacks a few sports showers. Meaning.

The year before last, these wishes were (partially) fulfilled. CBF won more sports mask with headlights very similar to the CBR 600 RR, 12 centimeters high, four-stage adjustable windshieldthen one muffler instead of two and some finishing touches in the engine. Is she prettier? Yes. However, if you state otherwise, the proposal remains “old”.

In the back seat suitcase installed promised a more relaxed route to Chervar, as after a long trip the backpack starts to get bored. But I was afraid that because of this huge "bucket" the motorcycle would dance on the track. Oh no.

On an empty normal road, I even lowered the steering wheel at different speeds and only at 70 kilometers per hour the front of the motorcycle swayed slightly. This is what motorcyclists call it shimmy effect... Height manually adjustable windshield (without unscrewing the screws, forcibly!) Compared to Tomažić's CBF, it improves comfort, although at higher speeds it runs out of another centimeter. He sits very well on the motorcycle, is relaxed, and the seat friendly to the buttocks... The side stand is too close to the left leg and B-pillar, but you get used to it.

The engine pulls as if it were running on electricity. No creaking, no sudden changes in power gain and 5,1 liter flow rate for a hundred kilometers. Matyazh says that he pulls his hair better than his own. Well, despite the stylistic update, the goal remains the same: tourism and, if necessary, some sports. The suspension falls short of a bouncy ride, although the rear shock is two clicks heavier and works well with a rider who knows it's not CBR, but CBF on the ridges.

This is a motorcycle that can be recommended to anyone, even a beginner with a neat attic, at least without EC and HO. With CBF, it's hard to miss.

Face to face - Matjaz Tomajic

If you are not attracted to the old CBF, you will stay cold even with the new one. But this does not mean that something is wrong with her. This is a great all-round bike that really has nothing to complain about. You just have to accept that it is the way it is. The difference between new and old when driving is negligible, but overall more than obvious. The engine has more torque and prefers to spin, the transmission is longer and softer, the wind protection is better and easier to adjust, the dashboard is richer, the seat is better cushioned ... The price difference is certainly justified, but not cheap.
