At first everyone tried to play the sympathy and playfulness card, but now it's time to turn the record. Kia has decided to offer the city toddler great usability. At first glance, the new Kia Picanto looks much more serious and prettier than convincing than before. It retained the same external dimensions as its predecessors, only the wheelbase increased to about 2.400 millimeters. Since the wheels have been pressed into the outer edges of the body, there is more room in the cabin. Above all, the increase is noticeable in the luggage compartment, which with 255 liters is one of the largest in this segment. But in order.

Looking inside the Picanto, you can see designs similar to those found in the larger Rio. Well, in terms of pricing, the baby is much cheaper than plastic, only here and there the lacquered detail raises the level of the overall impression. This is largely due to the "floating" (as Kia calls it) seven-inch touch screen, which shows navigation in 3D-mode, and also provides communication with smartphones. The exterior certainly doesn't promise as much space as the Picanto actually does. The driver will have no problem finding a good position, there will be enough space above his head, and he and his co-driver will also not struggle for a seat on the armrest. During the trials, the Picanto was also used for a business trip to Zagreb airport, and there was no record of back seat passengers in the "complaint book". They praised the plethora of drawers for small items, but missed out on the slightly easier access to the Isofix beds.

The liter three-cylinder engine in the test model is an old friend, with a redesign of the model it was only slightly improved. 67 "horses" in a city kid do not bring a decrease in speed, but for everyday tasks they fully serve their purpose. Thanks to better soundproofing, driving on the highway is also more pleasant, although the engine spins up at fairly high speeds due to the gearbox in just five gears. The longer wheelbase reduces vibration on short bumps and provides a more balanced position between corners. Less experienced drivers will appreciate the good visibility thanks to the large glass surfaces, while the near-vertical rear window, which provides a good view and a sense of the car's size, will help you when reversing and parking.

Modern assistance systems in this segment are not yet very common, but the offer is definitely improving. Thus, the Picant has a system that warns the driver of the danger of a frontal collision, and also triggers emergency braking if necessary. Among the rest of the equipment, it is worth highlighting a rear-view camera, parking sensors and automatic opening and closing of windows at the touch of a button. All this equipment is available in the most equipped version of the Luxury, which, in combination with a three-cylinder gasoline engine, costs a good 14 thousand rubles. Given the fact that Kia still offers a seven-year warranty, this is definitely a hot deal for a car that already stands out from the smallest segment with its usability.
