The Fiat Tipo itself is not a surprise as we have known it for quite some time from the latest version, but the first body version that brought it to the roads, as well as for us, was a four-door sedan. With him, most European drivers are not on you, and as a result, the attitude towards such a car immediately becomes a little more negative.

Completely different song - caravan version. It is also written on the skin of many Slovenians, as many of them mean that they need a lot of space when buying a new car. But at least once a year to go on vacation, and the caravan is simply necessary ...

In any case, apart from a joke (which, unfortunately, is not), the new Tipo in the station wagon version pleasantly surprised. Italians seem to have found the perfect blend of comfort, modernity and rationality. Thus, the Fiat Tipo Station Wagon does not stand out in any way, but does not disappoint anywhere. Is it because there are no serious comments here?

The front end design is, of course, the same as the sedan version, but the differences arise from the B-pillar and especially at the rear. This is primarily intended to offer a lot of boot space, but the shape is still not a victim of interior space. What's more, the Italian designers managed to get a hairy butt similar to the third version, the five-door Type, thus recognizing their job well done.

The interior is no problem either, so the average driver won't complain about it. The ergonomics are good, the sensors are large, transparent, the central screen is quite decent. Obviously, however, we are talking about a car that should be affordable, so there should be no excessive goals and desires. Thus, overall well-being can be described as above average.

But the best part is that it seems to surprise you with the ride. The 1,6-liter four-cylinder diesel is not one of the quietest in the world, but it is bought with extremely quiet and continuous operation, as well as responsiveness. At the end of the day, we're only talking about a 1,6-liter 120 "horsepower" engine. You will not always be the first to leave the city, and many people will pass by at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour, but Tipo's test also showed its quality later. Motorway speeds were a snack for him, and the Slovenian speed limit was too low. The engine spins well and runs smoothly even at high revs, which in turn means the average speed can be quite high and the diesel consumption doesn't kill the driver's wallet.

But each bar has two ends, and even the test allegedly surprised me twice. We have already described the positive aspects, but, unfortunately, the price of the test car is negative. The Fiat Tipo isn't a cheap car, but its price should be its trump card. Looking at the price of the test car, many people are likely to get a little stuck, but in defense it must be admitted that the car was very well equipped. Standard equipment already brings in a lot, and for a good 2.500 thousand (which is a lot), the Comfort Plus, Safety East and Tech Plus DAB packages made sure that nothing really wasted in the car.

However, the test Tipo will be overpriced for many, despite constant discounts. This is bad news, but the good news is that the agent has also produced a much cheaper and well-equipped version. After all, one should not forget that the overall impression of the car is more than positive.

evaluation

  • With slightly more rational equipment, the Tipo Station Wagon could be a suitable vehicle for many Slovenes. On the other hand, it can also satisfy those willing to subtract a little more, and such a test machine can be interesting. As always, money plays an important role, but on the positive side, the new Fiat Tipo Station Wagon offers a good above average base.
