Test Brief: Renault Clio Energy dCi 90 Dynamique GT Line

We Slovenes love Kliya. This is part of our (automotive) history, and this is a car that was also produced in our country. It has been loved for generations, affordable and available in many versions. Unlike other Renault models, it is no different today. There are not many engines, but a wider crowd is cared for with varying horsepower. When assembling the exterior of a car, the choice is even greater. In addition to production versions and various equipment packages, it can be supplemented with additional elements that make the Clia more elegant or sporty.

In the latter case, the simplest solution is to update the basic equipment package with the optional GT Line package, which includes special GT bumpers, exterior mirrors and decorative strips in different colors, 16-inch alloy wheels, chrome exhaust pipe and additional protection for the front sills. That was Clea's test. Together with the core Dynamique package (which is the richest of the three cores), it had almost everything you could imagine in Clio. And the result? He seduced in his own way, and old and young looked at him. How could he, when the bright blue color suits him and further emphasizes his sporty character. The interior impressed him less. This one is almost entirely plastic, almost like in old Japanese cars. Due to the best basic equipment, Dynamique is additionally decorated with decorative elements in black (!) Colors.

This is, of course, too monotonous for an athlete, but tastes are different, and I think there are clients who like it too. But on the other hand, the equipment is rich as the Clio was also equipped with the R-Link package and therefore the TomTom navigation system, a radio with a USB and AUX connector, internet connectivity and of course a bluetooth connection. Okay, too plastic. The impression, however, was greatly enhanced by the 1,5-liter turbodiesel. Okay, contrary to the design and equipment, it is difficult to call it a sports car, but its characteristics, again, are not so bad, and most importantly, it impresses with its economy. Our standard lap required only 100 liters of diesel fuel per 3,7 kilometers, and the average consumption was between five and six liters.

  • Renault Clio GT Line Dynamique Energy dCi 90 Stop & Start (yes, that's the full name) is an interesting combination of sporty image and rational engine, but it's worth noting that such a machine is not cheap. Specially for the class of cars in which the Clio drives. But standing out from the midrange costs money, no matter the size of the car.
