Test: MV Agusta Rivale 800

A typical instrument of South Americans, the Pan flute (the name trstenka is more familiar to us), on which they play this melody, has a design similar to Agusta exhausts. Yes, Agusta is something special in the world of motorcycles, a kind of patrician motorcycle, for example, for gentlemen who know what they want, and the history of the brand means a lot to them in terms of prestige and quality. Some have their own Agusta (motorcycle, not wife) right at home in the living room. Next to a woman or a woman next to her.

The stamp was born by the count John Agusta in the early twenties as an airline, and after his death, his sons went sailing on motorcycles after World War II. The MV Agusta is of course also a road racing concept for which, in the golden age of the sixties and seventies, cars such as Read, Haiwood, Agostini in Sertiz... Marquez and Rossi of that time, in short, a Spitz.

Supermoto Gentleman Scribbled

Opponent 800 this is a model that would not, at first glance, fit into the Agusta fleet, as the look of a supermoto motorcycle is not very close to the pure road sports cars that Agusta is truly recognized by. Like everyone else, Agusta is looking for niches and buyers. But Agusta is not for everyone, and Rivale is only for the elite. It was first presented in 2012 at the Milan Motorcycle Show when it was declared the most beautiful motorcycle show in Italy. Indeed, its appearance is defined by the superior design, attention to detail and sound of the three-cylinder engine. Oh yes, this sound, a song for the soul and heart of a motorcyclist!

But like any beauty, she can be a serious dog. A stable with more than a hundred horses reacts sharply to every small throttle movement, requiring gentle determination and the utmost measure of motorcycle experience and discretion. "Quickshifter" is great, moves in a sporty way, as well as acceleration. And the brakes are great too. An aggregate that can do more than 125 'horses', operates in four operating modes and has traction control on the rear wheel, you can choose the level of sensitivity of the throttle lever and much more - so the electronics are not alien to Agusta. The riding position is slightly forward, as a kind of compromise between the sport position and the supermoto position. We can only blame (too) small meters and signals, especially those used for turn signals. Flight of the Condor? The three-wave mechanical melody of this Italian is closer to me.
