TEST: Opel Corsa-e is normal, without madness. The choice is dictated by the mind [Top Gear]

Top Gear is one of the first portals to test the Opel Corsa-e, or actually the Vauxhall Corsa-e. The review is rather superficial, from which we learn that a car can be a safe choice for people who want to gently enter the world of electrics. However, no measurements of energy consumption or assessment of the actual mileage of the vehicle have been made.

Before moving on to the review, let us recall which car we are talking about:

Modes and driving experience

Like other PSA Group models built on the e-CMP platform, the Opel Corsa-e also has it. three driving modes: Eco, Normal i Sports... The first two limit power and torque to 60 and 80 percent of the maximum values, respectively, that are available in Sport mode. In ECO mode, the power of the air conditioner is also limited to squeeze the maximum possible range out of the battery.

> Is the real power reserve of the Peugeot e-2008 only 240 kilometers?

However, regardless of the driving mode set, the car will use all the available engine power when we press the accelerator pedal all the way.

According to Top Gear, most drivers will want to use the normal mode, which is how an electric Opel starts up.

> Opel Mokka X (2021) - brand new electrics from Opel this year

In drive mode B, regenerative braking is weaker than on the Nissan Leaf. It allows you to ride with only one pedal, but does not turn on the STOP lights - and will come in handy in the city. Due to the weight of the Corsa-e, rigid suspensionbut it's not very difficult. You can guess that in the diesel version, the paving stones and tram tracks will be better damped.

The overall driving experience was described as “normal” (source).

interior

The interior of the car is standard and almost identical to the version with an internal combustion engine. The difference is the digital display, which is standard - in the cheapest versions of the exhaust, instead of a screen behind the wheel, we get the classic watch with hands.

> Opel Corsa-e in the cheapest version with digital meters. Analog Clock - Configuration Error

Top Gear is disappointed that ergonomics have been driven crazy in some respects. For example, an air conditioner is controlled by knobs and buttons. The portal also gave curiosity: Compared to the Renault Zoe, the Opel Corsa-e is considered more spacious and practical. - however, this has not been confirmed.

Verdict

The Opel Corsa-e has proven to be a suitable model for drivers who would like to buy an electric car, but fear that they will not be able to cope with the new technology. The design is safe and much less extravagant than the Peugeot e-208. Buying this model should be a rational choice without mixing soul and emotions.

Unfortunately, the online version of the text lacks information on energy consumption or actual vehicle mileage. The figures given by the manufacturer show that the car will be able to overcome in good weather and calm driving. up to 280-290 kilometers on a single charge. On the highway it will be about 200 kilometers, in the city - even 330-340.

> Peugeot e-208 and fast charge: ~ 100 kW only up to 16 percent, then ~ 76-78 kW and gradually decreases

of course when we want to slow down the consumption of cells and charge the battery in a 10-90 percent cycle, we get 220-230 (normal, unhurried driving), 170 (highway or winter) and 260 kilometers, respectively.
