Grille test: Renault Kangoo dCi 110 Extrem
The formula is pretty simple. You take a typical van body shape and manage a team of interior engineers to make the car as comfortable as possible. Exterior? They put a pencil in the hands of a designer, who will be caught right during lunch, to draw something. In short, it doesn't matter.
However, this time around, the Extrem version will be the easiest to distinguish from other Kangoo in terms of appearance. As the name suggests, it must be Kangoo, who dares to flirt with slightly more challenging driving conditions. This is not an exaggeration. The slightly raised chassis, plastic guards and traction control, dubbed Extended Grip, give it more freedom on rough roads. Not in the wilderness. The said system should be tried out on snow, but what if Grandma Winter isn't generous this season.
The Extrem label can be safely applied to the edge of the available space inside. Even Olimpia's top five will not complain about the proposed centimeters. There are so many drawers, storage spaces and shelves here that it's good to remember where you put something. Even the trunk will not disappoint you. There is more than enough room, and the low loading height and step-less edge are ideal for loading bicycles and other sports equipment.
The driver will love to drive. With its high seating position, visibility, agility and a conveniently tuned chassis, the Kangoo is a pleasure to ride. An 80 kilowatt turbodiesel is also suitable for this task, and with a consumption of about six liters, it requires infrequent visits to gas stations.
Disadvantages? The outer handles of the sliding doors did not give any hope that they would withstand the rather strenuous work of the door. Therefore, it is best to hold onto the inner handle. The large front surface and the diesel engine generate quite a bit of noise at highway speeds. And yet: if Renault has a flawless refueling system without removing the fuel filler flap, they can also afford the Kangoo, where we have to use the key.

evaluation
A very useful machine that boasts spaciousness, maneuverability and an excellent diesel engine. Although it is a pleasure to drive off the paved road, the word "Extreme" should be treated with a grain of salt.
