Nextmove conducted road tests on five electric vehicles: Skoda Enyaq iV, BMW iX3, Mercedes EQC 400. Polestar 2 and Jaguar I-Pace EV400 S. competitors from the premium segment. Weakest range? BMW iX80.

Skoda Enyaq iV versus premium on the track

The experiment was carried out at a temperature of about 8 degrees Celsius. Highways around Leipzig (Germany) moved at a maximum speed of 130 km / h (on average about 110 km / h), drove 104,37 km. Skoda had the lowest energy consumption at 23,1 kWh/100 km., which means a maximum power reserve of 333 kilometers from a battery with a capacity of 77 (82) kWh. And this despite the fact that the Enyaq iV 80 rode on 21-inch disks, we were so afraid.

The second was Polestar 2 with a consumption of 23,4 kWh / 100 km, which with a 74 (78) kWh battery gave it a power reserve of 321 kilometers. Thirdly arrived Jaguar I-Pace - consumption was as much as 27,3 kWh / 100 km, but thanks to the large battery with a capacity of 84,7 kWh, he was able to travel up to 310 kilometers. In addition, the I-Pace had the smallest rims on the list because they were 18 inches.

Weakest range Switched off BMW iX3: 26 kWh / 100 km, which translates into 284 kilometers of range when the 73,8 kWh battery is discharged to zero. On the other side highest energy consumption wrote down Mercedes EQC 400 – 27,4 kWh / 100 km and a range of 292 km with an 80 kWh battery.

Mercedes, Jaguar and Polestar had four-wheel drive, while Skoda and BMW had only one rear engine. Skoda Enyaq iV 80 turned out to be the weakest in the rating. The maximum ranges are higher calculated based on usable battery capacity based on power consumption. According to the manufacturer, the Polestar 2 has a net power of 74 kWh. Nextmove consumed 75 kWh, Bjorn Nyland managed to get about 73 kWh. Depending on the accepted value, the maximum flight range of the car will differ slightly, but Polestar 2 will remain in second place.
