Slovenes love to abide by traffic rules, but we have to admit that they are very friendly when it comes to using mopeds and similar devices that reach a modest 25 kilometers per hour. No registration costs, no exam and no helmet. In the countryside, old and young still persist and at least feel like they still use more powerful mopeds, and in cities and other more urban centers, a small sea of ​​Tomos and Piaggi mopeds have emerged in recent years to satisfy the aforementioned constraints. The speed most suitable for use without an exam and the helmet for safe driving can be widely discussed, but the fact is that the rules do indeed correspond to those mopeds and scooters that are newer and therefore homologated.

Model Sima Crox is one of them. A scooter with a slightly off-road look and solid construction was given to us for a short test by the Slovenian representative of Avtocenter Špan. In those days, a private service maxi-scooter was in urgent need of new tires, so I liked to take a replacement, otherwise a brand new Crox, while the new ones were being delivered and installed. When you are sentenced to a speed of 25 kilometers per hour, you begin to perceive and experience the environment in a completely different way. To get from Brezovica to the industrial zone in Chrnucha, you need to take at least a sandwich with you, fast connecting roads have been eliminated, the world has stopped. But on the other hand, all those shortcuts that we used in childhood, when we moved around the city on a bicycle, come into play again. And how different this place is today. There are bike counters, the trees are now tall, the BMX track has been rebuilt, almost all sports fields are networked, and there are even more cars at the crossings between blocks and streets than a few years ago. And look at this titmouse on the balcony of the fifth floor, and the air conditioner in the apartment, obviously, is no longer an indicator of prestige.

It's nice to know that there is no rush with this scooter. You just drive slowly, but looking at your watch, every time you find yourself driving fast. When you drive slowly, you are also safe, your mind is at rest, you think little. It even happened to me that I completely forgot where I was going. It is true that I am not going to completely lose the red thread, let me say a little more about Crox.

Despite its looks, the Crox is not an SUV, but off-road enough to withstand bad bike paths. It feels like its speed is mechanically limited. If the gas could open wider, it would be much livelier. But the two of them also require enough spark outside the city. It has a theft protection and an interesting parking brake locking mechanism. It also has a safe under-seat space, a luggage hook and good brakes. The suspension is also more than reliable in terms of performance. The side stand is practical and the center stand is stable. Who knows why the information screen changes colors, but basic information is always available. A very useful scooter gives an impression of quality and durability.

If you ask me, such a scooter or similar moped should be mandatory by law for every urban family. There would be less stress and more clean air. I recommend.
