The Canadian Tesla Model 3 Owners Club has tested the Volkswagen e-Golf (2018). Electric Golf testers praised the car for its unobtrusive styling and interior that gave the impression of a high-end car.
The reviewer had the opportunity to ride an e-Golf in the basic configuration, with a classic dashboard, but with an additional multimedia package. The Electric Golf is built on the same assembly line as the combustion engine version, so the car deceptively resembles its combustion engine counterpart.
The differences are visible only in the cross section of the car - instead of an internal combustion engine, the car has a small electric motor (in front) and a large battery pack in the chassis:

VW e-Golf - batteries and range
The trip was short, so it was not possible to check the vehicle's range. However, the e-Golf (2018) batteries with a capacity of 35,8 kilowatt-hours (kWh) are known to drive up to 201 kilometers (measured in accordance with the EPA procedure). This is what the Hyundai Ioniq Electric allows and less than what the new Nissan Leaf offers:

Car navigation can display the vehicle's current range based on road accessibility. In other words: instead of circles (see above), the car will draw a wrong dot telling you where you can get without recharging.
VW e-Golf - charging socket
In a car sold in Canada, the standard is a CCS socket, which allows fast direct current (DC) charging. In Poland, the CCS Combo 2 charging socket is optional and costs an additional 2,4 thousand zlotys:

VW e-Golf interior + driving modes
The tester rated the car as solid, with a comfortably tuned suspension, comfortable seats, beautiful interior materials and a large trunk. The rimless rearview mirror looked very modern.
A lever on the gear lever allows the driver to switch between different recuperation (energy recovery) modes. The maximum recovery mode is indicated by the letter B.
The car was equipped with dual-zone air conditioning and a heat pump. The latter saves energy when heating the passenger compartment.
VW e-Golf, price in Poland: from PLN 164.
In the Polish configurator Volkswagen, the car is marked as "new" and does not even have its badge. The engine option selection mode is somewhat surprising, with only one option available.
The base version starts at PLN 164, so the car is more expensive than the Leaf (890) even in the extensive special edition Nissan Leaf 2018 and Hyundai Ioniq Electric.
Electric VW e-Golf specifications
The new VW e-Golf is powered by a 134 hp electric motor with 290 Newton meters of torque. According to the manufacturer, the engine accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 9,6 seconds.
On board there is a built-in 7,2 kilowatt charger and, as already mentioned, 35,8 kWh batteries.
