Inspection under the new rules in 2014 without problems

I hasten to unsubscribe about my personal experience of the recent technical inspection, which took place on 21.01.2014/3/XNUMX. I must say right away that this is my first visit to the MOT, since the car has just turned XNUMX years old, respectively, in the previous years I drove with the old coupon, which was issued for three years.

At the moment, there are several ways to undergo a technical inspection of a car, one of which is not entirely legal and official. Below I will try to tell you a little about each of them.

2 ways to get a vehicle inspection pass in 2014

The first is to receive a coupon along with an OSAGO insurance policy issued by a company employee. Its cost ranges from 700 to 1200 rubles, depending on the greed of the insurance company. But it’s not so important what price you pay for it, there is only one conclusion - this coupon will be considered fake, since no one actually inspects your vehicle, no performance checks of the main components and assemblies of the car are carried out.

This method is quite widespread among car owners, and therefore a lot of drivers do not want to go through everything according to the Law, because it can be done a little more expensively, but without unnecessary problems. I strongly advise against using this scheme, since in the event of an insured event, you can then get on your head with problems if it turns out how the TTO was issued.

The second is completely legal and official, which involves passing a technical inspection in accordance with all the new rules at a special point. This is how I went through the whole thing. Below I will describe in more detail, and explain what the traffic police officer checks and how long it will take.

The cost and procedure for passing the technical inspection according to the new rules in 2014

First of all, you will be asked to enter a special box, after which the traffic police officer will ask you to get out of the car and open the driver's door, while lowering the glass of the door halfway. Then he will take a photo of your vehicle and ask you to demonstrate all the light and sound devices of the car, namely:

1. Low and high beam
2. Back light
3. parking lights
4. Stop lights
5. Turns
6. Glass cleaner and washer

Have you been waiting for something else? Maybe at some points they inspect the car more thoroughly, but personally, in my experience, nothing else was required. That is, no checks for gas contamination, for backlash in the steering, and did not even check the operation of the hand brake.

The inspection itself took about one minute in time. Then the inspector called into the office, took the vehicle registration certificate and wrote out an MOT coupon, which looks exactly as shown in the photo below on the right:

All this took no more than 5 minutes. Oh yes, I forgot, you will be charged 600 rubles in advance as payment for the passage. And while all this is done in one place, no Sberbanks and other nonsense, as it was before. Everything is done quickly, simply and fairly cheaply.
