In addition, the front wheel bearings are tapered-adjustable, that is, you need to know how to adjust them, and if you overtighten, it starts to eat the hub. There are no problems with the semi-axes, they have never been crooked. The only thing that happens is that after a good run of thousands so under 15, if it becomes necessary to remove the axle shafts, then such a serious problem arises, because the bearing simply cannot be removed, and you have to use almost gas welding to heat it up and somehow remove the axle shaft . More front! A very common problem occurs in Niva, this is due to drive covers. They are torn all the time, as the design of the case is very interesting. Even when installed, they seem to be slightly turned, and when rotated, they grind themselves. And this leads to the fact that if the cover is not replaced in time, the lubricant is washed out and the drive fails. And under the influence of corrosion, it very quickly eats up the splines of the shaft, and when replacing it, it often happens that the shaft does not happen in services and you have to change the entire drive assembly. Therefore, the drive covers must be constantly monitored, or changed after a short run. Niva has no problems with the rear suspension, at most, if you bomb off-road, then the rear bars can go up to 150 km. But the ball bearings fly out much faster, they go off-road no more than 100 thousand km, but with careful operation they nurse at least 000 kilometers. And do not forget to follow the steering covers. The steering is quite reliable, and runs without repair for about 50 thousand mileage. The steering trapezoid serves from 100 to 000 thousand kilometers, shock absorbers are at least 100 thousand. There may be problems with the front suspension when driving privately over rough terrain, the upper silent blocks fail.
