This is the second time Toyota has shared a preview of the new GR Corolla.

It looks like next year will bring us a new hot hatch from Toyota, judging by the acceleration of the teaser car. The brand recently posted a new photo on Instagram that appears to show a standard Corolla hatchback, but in addition, the Corolla GR is in shadow on the side. 

This is the second time Toyota has taken to social media to take a peek at the hatchback. The first time the brand released a brief review that no one noticed after about a month. Now the internet is paying attention to Toyota's newsfeeds. The new photo is still insightful: the GR Corolla hides behind the shadows in camo, but the red shipping container echoes some important details.

Signs indicating that this is a Corolla GR

Zooming in, you can see that the bright red container says: "NA G16 GR FOUR". Like last time, this points to the globally sold G16 GR Yaris inline-three engine and all-wheel drive system. Although "NA" is often an abbreviation for "naturally aspirated" engine, in this case it likely refers to "North America". Hence the cargo bed and the “special delivery” vibes that Toyota throws around.

The automaker has already confirmed that it plans to release the hatch for North America after the GR Yaris is scrapped locally, and for now it's entirely possible that it will launch soon next year if the brand is already looking to showcase the best of the car. .
