TSP-10. Characteristics and features of oil

Materials

Like similar brands of gear oils for similar applications, TSP-10 grease shows high efficiency in the presence of high torques and contact loads in drives; including dynamic ones. It is used in manual transmissions and is ineffective for the class of vehicles that are equipped with automatic transmissions. Brand decoding: T - transmission, C - lubricant obtained from oil containing sulfur, P - for mechanical gearboxes; 10 - minimum viscosity in cSt.

TSP-10 brand oil includes a number of mandatory additives to the base mineral oil, which improve the antioxidant properties of the product and suppress the decomposition of the lubricant at high temperatures. It can also be used in friction units of shafts and axles, as it maintains the bearing capacity of bearings. In the international classification, it corresponds to lubricants of the GL-3 group.

Application

The primary conditions for choosing TSP-10 grease are:

 • Elevated temperatures in friction units.
 • The tendency of gear units - mainly gears - to seize under high contact loads and torques.
 • Increasing the acid number of partially used oil.
 • Significant reduction in viscosity.

A positive feature of TSP-10 gear oil is its ability to deemulsify. This is the name of the process of removing excess moisture when separating adjacent layers that do not mix with each other. This blocks or significantly slows down the oxidative wear of the contact surfaces of mechanical gears.

Features

Areas of rational use of lubrication:

 1. Heavy-duty mechanical transmissions, axles and final drives that meet the requirements for GL-3 oils.
 2. All off-road vehicles, as well as buses, minibuses, trucks.
 3. Hypoid, worm and other types of gears with increased slip.
 4. Mechanical components with high contact loads or torques with frequent impacts.

Transmission oil brand TSP-10 is ineffective in transmissions, for which engine oil is often used. This applies to front-wheel drive cars, a number of foreign cars of old releases, as well as rear-wheel drive cars that were produced in the recent past by VAZ. In the absence of the product in question, TSP-15 oil, to which up to 15% diesel fuel is added, can serve as its replacement.

TSP-10. Characteristics and features of oil

Basic performance characteristics:

 • Viscosity, cSt, at temperatures up to 40ºC - 135 ± 1.
 • Viscosity, cSt, at temperatures up to 100ºC - 11 ± 1.
 • pour point, ºC, not higher than -30.
 • Flash point ºC - 165 ± 2.
 • Density at 15ºС, kg/m3 - 900.

Upon acceptance, the oil must have a certificate of chemical stability of its composition. This characteristic determines the thermal stability of the lubricant and provides protection of parts against corrosion, including high-temperature corrosion. In arctic applications, substances are added to this grease to ensure freezing point stability. The standard limits the amount of sulfur and other impurities of mechanical origin, without standardizing the indicators of phosphorus in the final product.

The price of transmission oil TSP-10 is in the range of 12000 ... 17000 rubles. per barrel of 216 liters.

The closest foreign analogues of this oil are Gear Oil GX 80W-90 and 85W-140 greases from Esso, as well as Gear Oil 80 EP oil from British Petroleum. These products have a wider range of applications and are also recommended for the operation of powerful road construction equipment.
