TVR hints it could be back

2004 TVR Sargaris.

TVR was one of the freshest, but a little crazy sports car manufacturers in the world. His cars had a unique style and offered amazing performance for the price.

But some shied away from cars, mostly because of the artisanal build quality and misplaced ergonomics. Many were reluctant to buy them due to the fact that later TVR models were deprived of electronic aids such as ABS, as well as stabilization and traction control systems.

Production at the historic TVR plant in Blackpool, England ceased in 2006 and since then there have been numerous attempts to restart the plant, including transferring staff to build wind turbines for energy companies.

None of TVR's plans came to fruition, but a recent update to the official website gives hope. According to Autofans, the TVR website has a picture of its logo and the inscription "Never say never".

While this doesn't necessarily mean that TVR is about to announce a comeback, it looks much more optimistic than the site's previous inscription: "We support all TVR sports car owners by providing parts and developing alternative drivetrains. However, at the moment we do not produce new vehicles. Any such statements in various media are fake.”

The website is currently registered to HomePage Media Ltd, although it was formerly owned by the Austrian firm TVR GmbH. Vienna-based TVR GmbH only a few years ago offered to upgrade existing TVR Griffiths to TVR Sagaris models.

While we would love to see the new TVRs roll off the Blackpool assembly line, as last brand owner Nikolay Smolensky explained in 2012, skyrocketing costs and high customer expectations have made that prospect unviable.
