Salon VAZ "five" has an angular shape, repeating the shape of the body. The differences between the model compared to the VAZ 2101 and VAZ 2103 are minimal:

• the dashboard is equipped with basic control devices that provide information on coolant temperature, oil pressure, speed, fuel level, on-board network voltage and total mileage;
• the seats are installed from the VAZ 2103, but are additionally equipped with head restraints.

In general, all controls are intuitive and do not raise questions:

• the steering column switch is in a regular place, as in other Zhiguli models;
• heater control is located in the center of the front panel;
• buttons for turning on the dimensions, stove, rear window heating, rear fog lights are located on the dashboard;
• air supply deflectors for the side windows are located on the sides of the front panel.

1. We dismantle the seats and disassemble them into parts (backrest, seat, headrest), after which we remove the old trim.

3. We apply each of the elements to the new material and circle them with a pen or marker.

5. We glue the lapels of the seams, after which we cut off the excess.
6. If we use leather as a material, we beat off the seams with a hammer so that the lapels are not visible from the outside.
7. For hemming the lapels, we use a finishing line.
8. If the seat foam is in poor condition, we change it to a new one.
   

   Damaged seat foam should be replaced with a new one.
9. We stretch new covers and install the seats in place.

Door trim

Door cards can also be finished with one of the materials listed above. The work consists of the following steps:

1. We remove the door elements, and then the skin itself.
   

   The old trim is removed from the doors to make a new card
2. We apply the upholstery to a sheet of plywood 4 mm thick and circle it with a pencil.
3. We cut the workpiece with an electric jigsaw, process the edges with sandpaper and immediately make holes for the door handle, armrest and fasteners.

4. From foam rubber with a fabric base, we cut out the substrate.
5. We make sheathing from finishing material.

Rear shelf lining

If it was decided to update the interior of the "five", then the rear shelf, which is also called acoustic, should not be left without attention. For constriction, the same materials are used as for other elements of the cabin. The sequence of actions for finishing is as follows:

1. We take out the shelf from the passenger compartment and clean it from possible contaminants.
   

   We remove the shelf and clean it from the old coating and dirt
2. We cut out the necessary piece of material according to the size of the product, leaving some margin at the edges.

Floor sheathing

The right choice of flooring in the car is not only beauty, but also practicality. The most common material for these purposes is carpet, the main advantage of which is high wear resistance.

For finishing the floor, it is better to choose a carpet with a short pile made of polyamide or nylon.

Before starting work, it is necessary to measure the floor area and purchase material with a margin. The remains in the future can be used for partial replacement of the carpet. We lay the material as follows:

1. We dismantle the seats, seat belts and other elements from the floor.
2. We remove the old floor covering, clean the surface from corrosion and treat it with a rust converter, then prime it, cover it with bituminous mastic and let it dry.
   

   Before applying the floor covering, it is desirable to treat the floor with bituminous mastic.
3. We spread the carpet on the floor, adjust it in size and cut out the necessary holes. To make the material take the form of a floor, lightly moisten it with water and let it dry.

4. We finally lay the flooring, fixing it on double-sided tape or glue "88", and on the arches with decorative fasteners.

Noise insulation of the VAZ 2105 cabin

The interior of the classic Zhiguli is not distinguished by its comfort, and over time, more and more extraneous sounds appear in it (creaks, rattles, knocks, etc.). Therefore, if there is a desire to make being in the cabin more enjoyable, you have to be puzzled by its noise and vibration isolation, for which appropriate materials are used. In addition to reducing noise, they simultaneously improve the thermal insulation of the passenger compartment, since gaps and cracks through which cold air penetrates from the outside will be eliminated. The list of tools and materials used may vary depending on your needs and wishes:

• knife;
• roller;
• heat gun;
• marker of any color;
• scissors and tape measure;
• putty knife;
• solvent "646" or acetone;
• vibration absorber, for example, Vibroplast;
• noise absorber (felt, Accent);
• antiscrip (Madelin, Bitoplast).

Soundproofing ceiling and floor

In the VAZ 2105 cabin, the most noisy places are the wheel arches, the transmission installation area, the cardan tunnel, and the threshold area. Both vibrations and noises penetrate through these areas. Therefore, thicker materials should be used for them. As for the ceiling, it is treated to reduce the noise level from the rain. The work is carried out in the following sequence:

1. We dismantle the interior, dismantling the chairs and other elements, as well as the ceiling upholstery.
   

   We remove finishing material from the ceiling
2. We clean the surface of the body from dirt and rust, degrease it, cover it with soil.
3. We apply a layer of Vibroplast on the ceiling, and on top of it, Accent. At this stage, processing is best done with an assistant.
   

   We apply vibration-absorbing material between the roof amplifiers
4. We cover the floor and arches with a layer of Bimast Super, and Accent can also be applied on top.
   

   It is recommended to apply a layer of Bimast Bombs on the floor, and on top of it Splen or Accent
5. We assemble the interior in the reverse order.

Soundproofing doors

The doors on the “five” are soundproofed in order to eliminate extraneous noise, as well as to improve the sound quality of the speaker system. Processing is carried out in two stages: first, the material is applied to the inner surface, and then to the panel facing the interior of the cabin. The sequence of work is as follows:

1. We remove all door elements from the inside (armrest, handle, upholstery).
2. We clean the surface of dirt and degrease.
3. We cut out a piece of vibration isolation according to the size of the internal cavity and apply it to the surface.
   

   A layer of "Vibroplast" or a similar material is applied to the inner surface of the doors
4. We seal the technological holes on the panel with vibration-proof material.
   

   Technological openings are sealed with vibration isolation
5. We apply a layer of sound-absorbing material on top of the vibration isolation, cutting holes for attaching the skin and other door elements.
   

   “Accent” is applied to the salon side of the door, which will improve the fit of the skin
6. Assemble the door in reverse order.

With high-quality soundproofing of doors, the noise level should decrease by up to 30%.

Noise insulation of the motor partition

The motor shield must be treated with sound-absorbing materials without fail, since vibration and noise from the engine penetrate through it. If, however, the interior is soundproofed and the engine partition is neglected and ignored, then the noise of the power unit against the background of a general noise reduction will cause discomfort. The partition is processed as follows:

1. Remove the front panel and factory soundproofing.
2. From the inside of the torpedo we apply a layer of Accent. We glue Madeleine to the places where the panel contacts the metal, which will avoid the appearance of squeaks.
3. Thoroughly clean and degrease the surface of the shield.
4. We apply a layer of vibration isolation, starting from the windshield seal, after which we move to the floor. We completely cover the entire shield with the material, avoiding gaps. Brackets and stiffeners can not be processed.
5. We seal all the holes in the body leading to the engine compartment.
6. We cover the entire surface of the motor partition with soundproofing.

Soundproofing hood

The hood is treated with the same materials as the car interior:

1. Cut out templates from cardboard according to the size of the depressions on the inside of the hood.
2. According to the templates, we cut out elements from Vibroplast or similar material and apply them to the hood.
   

   We apply vibration isolation in the hollows of the hood
3. We cover the vibration material from above with a continuous soundproofing layer.
   

   We cover the entire inner surface of the hood with soundproofing

Underbody soundproofing

It is also recommended to process the outside of the car, thereby reducing the level of noise penetrating through the bottom and wheel arches. For such work, liquid sound insulation is excellent, which is applied by means of a spray gun, for example, Dinitrol 479. The process consists in removing the fender liner, washing the bottom, drying it completely and then applying the material. The bottom of the body is recommended to be processed in three layers, and the arches in four.

Front Panel

The regular front panel of the VAZ 2105 is far from perfect and does not suit many owners. The main nuances come down to weak instrument lighting and a constantly opening glove compartment lid. Therefore, it is necessary to resort to various improvements, using modern materials and devices.

Dashboard

By making changes to the dashboard, you can improve the readability of the instruments and increase its attractiveness. To do this, standard backlight lamps are changed to LEDs or LED strip. It is also possible to install modern instrument scales, which are applied over the factory ones.

How to remove the head restraints

The seat headrest is a simple element in the design of chairs, sometimes requiring its dismantling, for example, to replace, restore or clean the upholstery. There is nothing difficult to remove: just pull the product up and it will come out of the guide holes in the seat back.

Installation is carried out in the corresponding threaded holes:

To do this, you need a ventilation device from the "seven", which is built into the torpedo instead of the heater control levers. Additionally, the part is equipped with fans from the computer, thereby providing forced ventilation.
