Thefork oil gradually deteriorates with the kilometers traveled. Then your bike becomes less and less efficient and your comfort suffers over time. Therefore, you must change the oil in the plug to avoid damaging the mount. If your conventional plug and without adjustment, the operation can be relatively simple.

Recall: This tutorial gives you a method change the oil in the plug on motorcycles equipped with a conventional fork, this does not apply to inverted or cartridge forks. Please note that some plugs are equipped with hydraulic adjustments : therefore, first unscrew the drain screw at the bottom of the plug.
Step 1: Measure the height of the tubes and adjusting screw.
Before starting disassembly, make marks to ensure reassembly at the end of the operation. To do this, use a ruler to measure fork tube protrusion height relative to the upper tee. Also measure screw height adjustment (or raise its position).
Step 2: Installing and disassembling the motorcycle
Mount your motorcycle on motorcycle lift to be stable. The motorcycle must be supported by the rear wheel, the front wheel must not be in contact with the ground.
Dismantle front wheelthen stirrups brakes, mudguard, etc. Loosen the set screw of the top tee around the tube to release the threads in the plug, then back off the top plugs 1/4 turn while the tubes are still in place.
Then you can parse your fork tubes one by one. Then unscrew the covers completely.
Step 3: drain the used oil
Empty the tubes into a suitable container.
Pay attention to the small detachable parts: they can be assembled and folded into a small magnetic cup so as not to lose them or to block the springs and other parts with your finger so that they do not fall, but this is not very practical.
Step 4: Change the oil
Clean the parts and reassemble them in the correct order.
Pour new fork oil into a measuring container according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Refill the tubes with new oil.
Move the plug up and down several times, refuel the plug and fill all valves.
Step 5: adjust the oil level
Now adjust the oil level. You can use large syringe adjust the oil level according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
Remove excess oil following the manufacturer's recommendations. To do this, adjust the protrusion of the nozzle from the movable stop to the specified height and pump excess oil into the syringe.
Step 6. Put it all together
Substitute Spring and washers and screw on the cap.
To harden the suspension at the end of travel, increase the oil level.
Place the tubing in the tees and tighten to the recommended torque per manufacturer's specifications.
Check the spring preload against the recorded values before disassembly. Tighten all screws with Wrench and apply the front brake to move the pads. Tighten to the recommended torque.
You're done! All you have to do is take your used oil to a professional.
