A trick to easily park the car at a 45ยบ angle

Diagonal parking your car is a quick and easy procedure, but in order to do so, you need to follow some basic tips to avoid hitting your car. The main trick is to correctly observe the available space and dimensions of your car.

If you are just learning to drive a car, it can be difficult for you. Luckily, with a little practice and tips, there's nothing stopping you from parking your car quickly and easily.

How to park a car at a 45 degree angle?

Parking a car at a 45-degree angle is easier than parallel parking, curbside parking, or parking at a 90-degree angle, and is the first way you should learn to park before moving on to more complex parking maneuvers. Next, we will tell you how to master this parking method in 6 easy steps.

1. Find a free space

As a first step, you will need to find a free parking space at a 45 degree angle. Make sure your vehicle has enough room to maneuver. If there is another car on one of the parking lines, it is better to find another place.

2. Use turn signals

Slow down and use your vehicle's turn signals to signal other vehicles and pedestrians that you are planning to park.

3. Take care of your space

Leave as much space as possible between your vehicle and other parked vehicles before entering a parking space at a 45 degree angle. This will help you avoid collisions with other parked cars and give you the opportunity to correct your parking if needed.

4. Watch out for pedestrians or cyclists

Slowly steer your vehicle into place when your vehicle's doors reach the first parking line. Keep your foot on the brake pedal and constantly look forward, to the side and back to make sure you keep a safe distance from parked cars, moving cars, cyclists and pedestrians.

5. Stay between both lines of the parking space.

Straighten the car when you pass half of the parking space at a 45 degree angle. Drive slowly and keep the same distance between the two parking lines while continuing into the parking space.

6. Make sure the tail of the car is not on the road

Stop your vehicle about a foot from a curb, wall, or vehicle parked in front of you. Make sure you park off the side of the road and don't block traffic. Park the vehicle and, if necessary, apply the parking brake.
