Simplified parking

Bosch has launched a new parking assistance system.

Parkpilot consists of four or two (depending on vehicle width) sensors mounted on the rear bumper. No need to run cables all the way vehicle length as the controller and display are powered by the reversing light which turns the system on and off.

Parkpilot automatically warns of obstacles in the rear of the vehicle when reverse gear is engaged. Additionally, you can buy kits for mounting on the outer edges of the front bumper (with two or four sensors). The front system is activated when the engine is started, when reverse gear is engaged, or by using the auxiliary switch. If no obstacles are detected ahead, Parkpilot will automatically turn off after 20 seconds.

 

The distance to an obstacle or other vehicle is signaled by an audible signal and an LED indicator. The indicator can be installed at the rear of the vehicle so that the driver always has it in front of his eyes when reversing. The front set with four sensors has a separate indicator with a separate warning signal, which is installed in the front of the cabin.

Parkpilot is designed for bumpers with a maximum slope of around 20 degrees and is suitable for almost any passenger car or light commercial vehicle. It can also work in vehicles with a tow bar installed. At the same time, an additional switch "shifts" the detection field by 15 cm, so that the driver will avoid false signals when reversing, and the hook will remain intact.
