Lexus rain sensor installation
So I'm ready to brag about installing a rain sensor on the Prius 20! Process completed.
The sensor is installed and working properly.
And now about how it was.
Bought:
1. Rain sensor, with chip, decorative coating and metal base Code - 89941-42010. Compatibility List: Sensor compatibility with other models
2. Wiper control unit. I managed to buy a Camry-3 block in the city, but without a chip. Code - 85940-33130. In general, judging by the description, sensors of other models are also suitable, you just need to clarify the pinout.
3. Steering column switch. I managed to find a Rav4-3 in stock. Couldn't find the code, apparently I was looking for it.
4. Gel plate for fixing the sensor. Code - 89944-42010.
Toyota donor wiring was also used.
To connect all this, I found and used 3 schemes:
Prius circuit, Camry circuit without sensor (same as Prius, only wire colors are different) and Camry circuit with sensor.
Based on these 3 diagrams, cables are slowly added and the device is connected.
My difficulty was that there were no chips in the control unit. According to the diagram, I connected the wires directly and filled them with glue, leaving the glue with another chip.
3 wires must be run under the panel, along the frame and under the ceiling to the sensor. 1 wire runs under the dash to the dashboard connector, should be the SPD wire (vehicle speed but works without).
Everything else is added to the steering column switch chip.
The block itself is easily located on the edge of the steering wheel, there is a lot of space.

The block was connected and wrapped with a mat so as not to vibrate:
The hardest part was gluing the sensor contour to the glass, painting it and gluing the plate.
Tried to draw with paint and glue on glue.
As a result, when repairing glass from chips, I found an excellent service, where they did everything for me with the right materials and with high quality. Used a glass primer and some kind of two-component adhesive. It is better to glue the contour with a small margin, and then cut it out with a knife instead.
The gel plate is perfectly glued with silicone spray. We clean the sensor and glass. A couple of sprays on the sensor - glue the gel, a couple of sprays on the gel and all this on the glass. Excess bubbles are squeezed out on their own and the sensor works properly. If something doesn't work, remove it, flush and try again.
As a result, everything is perfectly assembled, connected and working.
