Installing the Starline immobilizer crawler: do-it-yourself connection, check and replacement

Connecting the Starline immobilizer crawler provides that the chip is lost, broken, but the user is not going to replace or repair the car alarm.

Installation of the Starline immobilizer crawler is required if the standard chip key has been lost. You can solve the problem yourself if you use the connection recommendations.

General characteristics of the crawler

Installation of the Starline immobilizer crawler is necessary in several cases - the car needs a keyless start, the chip key is lost, or the main system has malfunctions. The manufacturer offers customers several options for the device that work with popular models of anti-theft systems:

  • BP-03 - disables the lock at the time of remote start. Requires a duplicate chip key.
  • F1 - does not need a chip, accessing the machine controller via CAN. After autostart, it keeps the steering locked until the owner independently disables the option.
  • CAN LIN is a board installed directly in the car alarm unit. Resistant to hacking, you do not need a key to work.

The Starline A91 immobilizer crawler looks like this: the central unit (ECU), radio transponder, antenna, cables, fasteners.

Principle of operation

When an anti-theft system is installed, the owner uses the smart key in the ignition. The immobilizer reads the radio tag and carries out the identification procedure. If the check codes are positive, then the internal combustion engine starts.

Connecting the Starline immobilizer crawler provides that the chip is lost, broken, but the user is not going to replace or repair the car alarm.

Two principles apply:

  • The duplicate is placed in the device block. Used in BP-03. Easy to hack system.
  • Software management. More resistant to hijacking attempts.

The bypass module allows you to access the powertrain from the installed immobilizer ECU and use the car even when the chip is lost or too far away, and the start is controlled remotely.

Contents of the module

Before connecting the Starline BP-02 immobilizer bypass, you need to figure out what the device consists of.

The key, equipped with a transponder, as in BP-03, is inserted into the device unit, where an electromagnetic coil is installed that can read codes. When the autostart of the power unit is triggered, the signal is transmitted to the relay module, which closes the circuit. Transmission is carried out from the bypass antenna to the immobilizer receiver.

Advantages and disadvantages

The block is installed simply and does not require special skills from the car owner. The positive aspects of using such a device include:

  • the possibility of installing an automatic start block;
  • keeping the car alarm active;
  • access to management, even when it is impossible to change the key to a duplicate.

The negative aspects are associated with a decrease in the level of protection, when a remote start of the power unit is used - the immo ceases to function.

The Starline immobilizer crawler does not work, only if it is connected incorrectly.

Do-it-yourself module installation

Connecting the device will not require the user to intervene in the security system or have the makings of a programmer. There is only one wire going to the engine start module. Before starting work, you need to de-energize the car's network by removing the battery terminal. After the procedure, it remains only to check the Starline immobilizer crawler for serviceability and use the car as usual.

Wiring diagram

Installation or replacement of the Starline immobilizer crawler looks the same: four cables are connected to each other. The gray ones are needed to communicate with the antenna.

It is planned to supply power to the module via the red cable, and control pulses - via the black one.

Instructions

The module is placed behind the tidy, but the car owner has the right to choose another, more convenient place. The installation of the Starline immobilizer crawler provides that the unit is fixed on a non-metal surface, which helps to avoid shielding or signal interference.

Before installation, the device is opened, a chip with a transponder is inserted into the case.

Connecting the Starline immobilizer crawler goes like this:

  1. The control pulse from the starting system is redirected via a black cable to the engine start module.
  2. The gray pair is needed to connect to the loop antenna. If there is nowhere to put one, then it is wound around the receiver.
  3. Power is connected from the vehicle network.

If the signal is not strong enough, the gray cables are connected with a break in the standard security alarm circuit.

How to use a bypass device

Connecting the Starline immobilizer bypass is only half the process. The block needs to be trained. You need to determine where the signaling service button is located. Then it remains to follow the algorithm:

  1. Switch off ignition.
  2. Activate the service button 14 times to access the training mode.
  3. Start the ignition for 5 seconds.
  4. Wait for a double signal from the immobilizer.

If the immo emits four beeps, you should check the correctness of the connection and go through the algorithm again.

DIY bypass block

Do-it-yourself installation of the Starline immobilizer crawler is possible without buying a module from the manufacturer. You can assemble one yourself. List of components:

  • plastic body;
  • five-pin relay connected to auto wiring;
  • standard diode 1N4001;
  • cables.

The procedure does not take much time and effort and needs only care. The device will work in the same way.

The outputs of the relay coil are connected to the diode so that the plus goes to the cathode, minus to start the motor. Reverse polarity is used. The wire from the car alarm and the end from the bypass antenna are connected to the closed contact, the second end from it is connected to the open contact. That is, the Starline immobilizer crawler connection scheme can be used.

The wire from the standard coil is directed to a free contact, the chip is installed in the antenna and secured with electrical tape.
