Minecraft from Mojang Studios appeared on the market in 2009 in a test version. Two years later, the finished product was released, initially only available on PC. In the following years, Minecraft was released for consoles and mobile devices.

What made this survival game win the hearts of players around the world? Probably the secret lies in the simplicity of the mechanics and high replay value. The gameplay itself in the basic version of Minecraft may also seem simple at first glance, but it is far from it! Traveling through a huge open world made entirely of bricks has no specific goal, except for the most obvious one - you need to survive!

The creators of Minecraft do not lead the player by the hand when they say how the gameplay should look like. We must decide for ourselves how best to play. We can choose from 5 completely different modes:
- creative mode - focus on construction. With unlimited access to raw materials and the ability to move freely in any direction, we create bizarre designs without having to fight for survival with opponents,
- survival mode - in this mode we will have to extract resources ourselves. To ensure our safety, we will have to arm ourselves to the teeth - creepers, skeletons and zombies will haunt us at night, wanting to turn our efforts to survival in vain,
- hardcore mode - differs from survival mode by the level of difficulty (which, as the name suggests, is hardcore) and by the fact that in case of failure in the fight against opponents, our world will be deleted, and we will have left to start the game from the beginning,
- adventure mode - here we will not be able to play endlessly with breaking three-dimensional blocks, but we will be able to interact with mobs, press red buttons and mysterious levers,
- spectator mode - it allows you to freely move around the map and see the world from the point of view of any character. However, it is impossible to interact and change the environment.
In addition to the basic version of Minecraft, players received two seasons of "Minecraft: Story Mode" and "Minecraft Dungeons". The first title is the work of Telltale Games, the plot of which is focused on finding the Order of the Stone and defeating the monster called Wither Storm by brave cube heroes. Interestingly, a series called (of course!) "Minecraft: Story Mode" was created based on the story version of Minecraft. You can watch it on the Netflix platform.
When it comes to "Minecraft Dungeons", it's great fun for RPG and adventure game fans. Players can fight epic battles solo or in multiplayer. The gameplay consists of traveling around the world, saving villages and killing enemies. Because these swampy and underground locations are inhabited by minions of the Archers!

The popularity of Minecraft games has become known to many toy manufacturers. Virtual entertainment can turn into a desire to play with real cubes. Building sets are directly related to individual missions (Redstone Battle) or allow you to build a specific character (BigFig Pig and Baby Zombie).
