Last year, the president issued a decree on a "general cleanup" in the country. The main purpose of the decree was to restore cleanliness in the country, and very soon the fine for unsanitary conditions in the yards was significantly tightened.

If you decide to wash your car on the banks of a lake or river, be prepared to pay a fine of:

from 500 to 1 thousand rubles - for individuals;
from 1 to 2 thousand - for officials;
from 10 to 20 thousand - for legal entities.

This is provided for by the current Code of Administrative Offenses, or rather its article 8.13.

Washing within the city

Administrative punishment for this type of offense already applies to local self-government bodies. Thus, washing a car within the city limits is provided for by the law relating to administrative offenses.

Tellingly, it was the Moscow Region that was the first to put the presidential decree into practice (other regions of the country soon joined in). Now washing the vehicle in the wrong place also refers to unsanitary conditions (the yard of the house is also included in the category of such places). Car owners who violate this law will face severe punishment - monetary fine up to 5 thousand rubles.

It is worth noting that the new law applies not only to isolated cases, but also to officially registered car washes.

Washing in the wrong place

If before that the creation of unsanitary conditions, which includes washing in the yard, was estimated by the traffic police from about 500 to 2,5 thousand rubles, today the amount of the fine, as noted above, has risen to 5 thousand. It is important that the government undertakes to closely monitor this problem, and car washes will not stand aside - now those that violate the environmental requirements of the region will also be fined.

But car washes in the wrong places are not all that the authorities have “pleased” car owners with.

The penalty has also been increased for:

garbage disposal from vehicles;
the formation of unauthorized dumps near the roadway.

And if earlier drivers were fined 1 rubles for such an offense, now, following the new amendments, the authorities have increased the fine to 3-5 thousand. If the violation is attributed to an official, then the amount may increase to 10 thousand rubles.

Where can you wash your car?

Vehicle washing should be carried out in a place specially equipped for this. This requirement is explained quite simply: during the car wash, various harmful substances (in particular, detergents and petroleum products) that pollute the environment come off the car.

In other words, you can wash your car only at car washes designed for this and properly equipped. It is assumed that a citizen who has managed to find money to buy a car will be able to find them for washing it, and will not pollute the environment.

But in reality, things are somewhat different: car owners, taking a bucket with them, go out of town, look for some quiet place and wash the car there. Those of them who wash vehicles within the city limits do this in most cases due to ignorance of the laws.

However, there is one contradiction in this law: in most of the settlements there are no special car washes. Therefore, a fine can be issued both for washing in the wrong place (if there is a car wash nearby), and for washing near water bodies (if the waste can harm the latter). Actually, this is the only argument that you can use when drawing up a protocol.
