Lordstown Motors showed photos of the first full-fledged electric pickup truck in its collection. The model is called Endurance. Probably the car will be the first electric pickup truck on the market in North America. The start of production is planned for December this year, and sales should start in January 2021. If the company invests in time, then Endurens will get ahead of Tesla Cybertruck.

As the drive will be used 4 electric motors that will rotate each wheel. The head of the company Steve Burns announced the new product, but he did not provide details about the technical part. Burns only said that in the next calendar year it is planned to sell 20 thousand of these cars. Such plans are based on the fact that 14 pre-order applications have already been made.

The car will be assembled at a factory formerly owned by GM in Lordstown (Ohio). The project costs $ 20 million. Interestingly, General Motors lent 40 million to Lordstown with the possibility of an increase in sponsorship up to another 10 million.

Here is what is known about the new product today. There is a high probability that a battery will be used as a battery, the power of which will exceed 70 kW / h, and the power of the entire electric power plant will be 600 hp. The milestone of 100 km / h will be overcome in 5,5 seconds. The maximum speed limit will be limited to 128 kilometers / h.

The car will be equipped with a system that supports charging from a standard network, as well as quick charging from a mobile unit installed at a gas station. In the first case, the process will take 10 hours, and in the second - 30-90 minutes (it will depend on the characteristics of the station itself). The maximum power of third-party electrical appliances that can be charged from the pickup battery will be 3,6 kW. The car will be able to tow cargo weighing up to 2 700 kg.
