Do you like to drive with the window open? Check out how it affects your skin

The condition of your skin is a reflection of your health - that's a fact. This is influenced by many external factors. No wonder so much is said about the effect of weather conditions on the skin. What about driving a car? Can she be threatened by a seemingly innocent act? Find out all the details in our article.

Skin - why should you take care of it?

Human skin is not only aesthetic. It has a number of functions related, for example, to the synthesis of vitamin D, thermoregulation or support of the immune system. It is a perfect reflection of what is currently happening in your body. It is her appearance that most often makes people go to the doctor. Skin care should be a necessity for you. However, it is important to remember that all people are different and have different needs. For most people, the foundation is proper cleansing, hydration, exfoliation, antioxidant action, and UV protection.

Build - the most common types in society

Weather conditions create serious problems for your skin. Constant wind, frost and changing temperatures require great dedication from her. Every person has a different complexion. The most popular types include:

  • dehydrated and dry skin;
  • soft skin;
  • mature skin;
  • oily skin;
  • mixed skin.

Skin is the most common ailment

One of the most common skin care concerns is dryness. This should not be confused with dehydration. These two terms are often used interchangeably, which is a mistake. Dry skin is skin with a broken hydrolipidic coating, which indirectly contributes to a faster release of water from the epidermis. On the other hand, dehydrated, as the name suggests, absorbs water particles that are too small. If you want to provide comprehensive care for your skin, you should take care of these two aspects at the same time.

The effect of conditioner on the appearance of the skin

Do you like to drive with the window open? Compared to a conditioner, this option is definitely better for your skin! It has long been known that air conditioning does not have a positive effect on beauty and health. This causes severe drying of the air in the car. The skin begins to secrete water and becomes visibly thirsty for it. It is rough to the touch and prone to irritation.

Say goodbye to dehydrated skin - proven ways

How to moisturize your face? First of all, take a close look at your makeup and daily routine.. Moisturizing acne-prone skin will be a little different than moisturizing dry and atopic skin. The key to success is the correct selection of substances in cosmetics. In the case of dehydrated skin, they should contain compounds that firmly bind water in the epidermis (moisturizers). These include, among others:

  • hyaluronic acid;
  • glycerol;
  • urea.

Restore the lipid layer

Merely supplying the epidermis with water (using its binders) is not enough. Emollients should be used to limit its excessive release. These are substances thanks to which you restore the lipid layer. They leave an invisible (or tangible) protective film on the epidermis. These include, first of all, natural vegetable oils, vaseline and paraffin oils.

Dehydrated skin - what to avoid?

You have a long way to go and your skin needs help? Don't make it worse for her. Try to avoid strong sun exposure (especially without the right filter) and do not use harsh substances such as strong acids. If you are simultaneously struggling with acne, minimize drying agents - use them topically. Acne and dry skin are the scourge of many people. Dryness further exacerbates the problem of rashes.

As you can see, having your car windows open will be a better option during long hours of driving than turning on the air conditioner. When it’s very hot and you can’t imagine traveling without air conditioning, try to keep it at a minimum level and turn it off from time to time. Your skin will thank you for it.
