I'll tell you my story about the operation of the VAZ 2105 car, which I was given at a previous job. First, they gave us the usual injection Five, just on gasoline without gas equipment. After the director looked at my daily mileage, which was from 350 to 500 km per day, he decided to switch his Five to gas in order to save on fuel.

Less than two days later, as I was told, he drove his swallow to a car service, where they had to install gas equipment for me. In the morning I drove the car into the box and drove to work in my car. In the evening everything was already ready, and I went to pick up my working Five.

The master immediately showed me how the “GAS”, “PETROL” and “Automatic” modes are switched. Well, everything is clear with the first two modes, but the last one, which “AUTOMATIC” means the following: If the switch is in this position, the car will start on gasoline, but as soon as you start to increase the engine speed, the system will automatically switch to gas.

Each such switch from gasoline to gas looks approximately the same, but can switch in different directions, depending on the model. But to determine in what position the switch is located is not difficult. Just look at the light on this toggle switch: if the light is red, then the switch is set to “Petrol” mode, if it is green, then this is the “GAS” mode. The automatic gas on mode is usually enabled when the switch is in the middle. Checking this is quite simple, if the switch is red, and you doubt what mode the engine is running in, just give it a lot of gas, and if the light turns green, then the “automatic” mode is on.

Of course, there were problems when operating with gas, often the rubber band flew off the valve under the hood, and I constantly had to correct it. This usually happened during a pop under the hood. The reason for such pops is usually the gas valve is too tightly twisted, that is, there is not enough gas and the mixture turns out to be rich and cotton occurs. So, if this problem occurs frequently, it is best to unscrew the gas supply valve harder.

Another problem arose after driving more than 50 km after installing gas equipment on my Zhiguli. I probably drove 000 kilometers per hour, hurried to the office, and during the overtaking, the power dropped sharply, the valve burned out. You can tell whether the valve is burnt out or not by the sound of the engine. It is enough to drive the starter a little, and if the valve is really burned out, then when the engine is started it will start up as if intermittently, just compare it with another similar car.

But there are a lot of advantages of operating the Zero Fifth model on gas, and the biggest plus is low fuel consumption. More precisely, the low cost of fuel, compared to gasoline, although the consumption is 20 percent higher. But the cost of gas is almost 100 percent cheaper. Save at least 50% if you run a car on gas.

Judging by my operating experience, the average gas consumption for my Five was 10 liters along the highway, and the cost of gas was 15 rubles, so consider for yourself which fuel is more economical.
