Video: four-wheel vehicle CAN-AM DS 450 X

The project of this ATV started back in 2001. Here, certain rules were followed, namely: to make the lightest ATV with the maximum possible power and an evenly distributed mass on the chassis. So we were able to see and test what they have been developing over the years.

Let's say this ATV is primarily for demanding riders who only want the very best, the price of 10.990 € is also suitable. For anyone planning to use it for racing purposes, the price per thousandth is lower, of course, due to the homologation.

Single-cylinder 449cc engine The electronic fuel injection, five-stage, water-cooled, was developed by Rotax and has a power output of 33 kW (45 hp). Its roots go back to the Aprilia RSV 1000 R Mille, from which they borrowed the cylinder head.

They used advanced aviation technology to make the frame and screwed it down with aluminum screws. All because of the weight. A special feature is the double pyramidal composition of the frame, which ensures its greater rigidity and stability. Thanks to this, they have also achieved a lower weight for the four-wheeled vehicle, which is 161 kg and exceeds all competitions in this class.

Sweeping is essential for such a four-wheeled vehicle, which is why BRP has developed a double A-shaped front fork that provides more travel, making it easier to negotiate obstacles in the field. They also took a step forward by installing the brakes and clamping the wheel deeper in the rims, thereby reducing the weight of the spring. Consequence: Smoother and more precise driving.

Matjaz Servant, who participates in the national and Croatian championships, has shown us how to drive the fastest on the track. We also drove a few laps on the wet track in Lemberg. We didn’t act like Matyazh, but we had fun. You can see what Matyazh has to say about racing and the race car in the video.
