VIT-S: Momentum launches fundraising campaign for its new electric bike

British manufacturer Momentum has just launched a campaign through KickStarter to fund VIT-S, a new electric bike model.

The Momentum VIT-S is built for speed and comfort, with a Nidec motor that is considered particularly efficient. Compliant with European regulations with a 250W nominal power, the Nidec crank arm delivers up to 700W and 95Nm peak, enough to keep the VIT-S going in any situation. The VIT-S, powered by a 380 Wh battery, provides 80 to 120 kilometers of autonomy, depending on use and the assistance mode used. A battery consisting of Panasonic cells takes 4-6 hours to charge.

Mounted on an aluminum frame, the VIT-S is equipped with Magura hydraulic disc brakes, Schwalbe tires and a NuVinci N330 derailleur.

The absolutely first-class Momentum VIT-S will be available from May 2017. Available in two versions, Classic and Lite, it costs £ 4000 or more than € 4500.

It remains to be seen if Momentum will manage to maintain its timeline, as the success of the campaign launched in November via KickStarter remains more than mixed. Of the £ 120.000 requested through the platform, the manufacturer has raised less than £ 10.000 today ...
