Tesla owner pleasantly surprised by Audi e-tron [YouTube review]

Sean Mitchell runs a YouTube channel dedicated to electric vehicles. As a rule, he works with Tesla, he drives a Tesla Model 3 himself, but he really liked the Audi e-tron. He even began to wonder why Audi buyers generally choose other models from the manufacturer when a pure electric option is available.

Before we get to the point, let's go over the basics. Technical data Audi e-tron 55:

  • Model: Audi e-tron 55,
  • price in Poland: from 347 PLN
  • segment: D / E-SUV
  • battery: 95 kWh, including 83,6 kWh of usable capacity,
  • real range: 328 km,
  • charging power: 150 kW (direct current), 11 kW (alternating current, 3 phases),

What he liked: powerwhich he connected with Tesla with 85-90 kWh batteries. The most convenient way was to drive in a dynamic mode, in which the car consumes more energy, but gives the driver its full potential. He also liked the handling associated with Audi. This is largely due to the air suspension, which ensured the vehicle's stability.

According to youtuber Audi's suspension does the job better than any Teslathat he had the opportunity to ride.

He really liked it there is no noise in the cabin... Apart from the noise of the air and tires, he heard no suspicious sounds, and external sounds were also greatly muffled. In this respect Audi has also done better than Teslaeven taking into account the latest Tesla Model X "Raven", which has been in production since April 2019.

Too the quality of the car made a huge impression on him. The interior of a premium car with great attention to detail - such meticulousness is hard to see in other manufacturers, including Tesla. He found the charging speed at home sufficient and He loved the 150kW fast charge.. The only scratch was the cable, which the outlet did not want to let go - the latch released only 10 minutes after the end of charging.

Disadvantages of the Audi e-tron? Reach, although not for everyone, can be a challenge

The reviewer openly admitted that the car's mileage - in real terms: 328 km on a single charge - is quite enough for his journey. He covered a distance of 327 kilometers, stopped twice for charging, but a one-time stop was enough for him. The other was out of curiosity.

He admitted that he was disappointed with the values Audi received when he heard about them, but while using the car, he did not feel fear that the battery was about to be discharged... He only emphasized that he plugged the e-tron into an outlet every night to replenish the battery.

Other disadvantages of the Audi e-tron

According to Mitchell, the user interface was a little dated. He liked the way Apple CarPlay works, although he finds the icons too small and was surprised to leave Spotify playing music in the car when the driver picks up the phone. He also didn't like the e-tron's ability to read aloud the text message it received, as the content isn't always intended for all passengers.

The downside was that the car is driving within the predicted range... A fully charged Audi e-tron promised between 380 and almost 400 kilometers, when in fact it was capable of driving up to 330 kilometers.

Finally it was a nasty surprise no active recovery after removing the foot from the accelerator pedalthat is not single-pedal driving... As is the norm for electric vehicles, the Audi e-tron required a constant shift of the foot from the accelerator pedal to the brake pedal. The paddle shifters allowed control of the regenerative braking power, but the settings were reset every time the driver pressed any of the pedals.

The whole story is here:

Note from the editors www.elektrowoz.pl: We are delighted that such material was created and recorded by the owner of Tesla. Some people chronically hate the Tesla and Audi e-tron, it turns out this could be an interesting alternative for them. Moreover, the car combines traditional looks and electric drive, which can be a disadvantage or an advantage depending on the perspective.

> The price of the Audi e-tron 50 in Norway starts at CZK 499. In Poland there will be from 000-260 thousand. zlotys?
