The Volkswagen Cargo e-bike, unveiled as a world premiere at the Hannover Motor Show, will go on sale in 2019.

The Cargo e-Bike, billed as a 'last mile delivery', will be the first electric bike marketed by the German group.

Unveiled in Hannover along with a series of new electric and hydrogen trucks, this electric three-wheeler has a 48-volt system and complies with the electric bike legislation with a power limited to 250 watts and an assistance limit of 25 km / h. At this stage the manufacturer does not indicate the capacity and autonomy of the battery.

The smallest vehicle ever built by the group's utility division, the Cargo e-Bike has two front wheels. Equipped with a loading box with a volume of 0,5 m3, it can load up to 210 kg of payload.

The Volkswagen Cargo e-Bike, announced in 2019, will be built at Volkswagen's Hanover plant. His rates have not yet been disclosed.
