This engine is also at the forefront of modern technology: commands from the right wrist are transmitted using electrical impulses and how the engine electronics will respond to this, and the rider can choose between three programs: sports, hiking and rain.

If I argued in favor of Dorsodur that the choice of the letter S (ie Sports program) is the only correct one, then with the "Gran Touring" the situation is different. Pulling roads through the bumpy Dolomites, the engine responded with too much rumbling, which, combined with the racing dimensions, resulted in a tiring and jittery ride.

You will get more tourist pleasures after switching to T, when the engine responds smoother, smoother. At medium and higher revs, the power is the same, so enough, the only difference is how the engine reacts when it is “enough”. Understand? However, the rain program is only really useful when the less experienced driver is worried that their rear tire will fly out on poor (wet) surfaces. Oh, he's lazy ...

The convenience of using a two-wheeled bike is increased by such little things as a 12V socket (for example, for a navigation device), two small (but very small) drawers next to the fittings with an on-board computer and, of course, decent wind protection.

A mid-sized helmet will still be on the drawing, but the front grille is designed to not cause annoying swirls. The brakes are worthy of their name, and despite the anti-lock braking system, pressing the right lever harder puts you on the nose.

The suspension is a good compromise between sportiness and comfort. When compared to Japanese hexagons of a comparable class, the settings are even more sporty. The rear cushion can be adjusted for preload and operating speed. Headquarters? The first impression - it could have been softer, but after hundreds of miles of pain in the back there was no spirit, no hearing.

Yes, the Shiver GT is a good bike.

First impression

Appearance 5/5

It is just as sharply rounded, which pleases both serious (older) riders and the younger generation. When it comes to design details, (the Japanese) the competition never comes to its knees.

Motor 4/5

For unhurried cruises, the brisk hair of the two cylinders is too uneven, which is partially eliminated by the electronics with the "Touring" program. The engine deserves praise for its power and modern design, but it's still pretty (again, the Japanese comparison is inappropriate).

Comfort 4/5

The mask protects well from the wind, the driving position is very good. If the seat and suspension were softer, the GT would be more comfortable, but less convincing in fast corners.

Price 3/5

What does the GT compare to? Even closer to it is the BMW F 800 ST, which is more expensive than the fat "George", and the Japanese four-cylinder six-wheeled cars are almost half the price. Some riders devour the price difference with more exclusivity and more sophisticated details, while others (most) find it too big and buy what everyone else drives.

First class 4/5

The Shiver GT is a light and fast beauty on two wheels, and it has too much lively temperament for a five in its segment. But maybe this is what you like?
