On the other hand, if there is an unpleasant odor coming from the air supply, it could be caused by fungus in the system.” In both cases, for the sake of the condition of the car, your own health and driving comfort, you will need to visit a specialized workshop that will check the tightness of the system, top up the coolant and, if necessary, remove the fungus.

A very important element of the air conditioner, on which both the efficiency of the entire system and our well-being depend, is the cabin filter. Its task is to stop harmful substances from the air sucked into the car interior. Thanks to this filter, exhaust fumes from other vehicles, fine dust and soot particles, as well as pollen and bacteria do not enter the car interior, which is especially important for allergy sufferers.

However, experts from Bosch, a manufacturer of quality auto parts, emphasize that the best time to replace the cabin filter is early spring: “Firstly, because cabin filters are extremely susceptible to moisture in autumn and winter, which is the basis for the growth of mold and fungus bacteria. Secondly, because in the spring an effective, and therefore effective filter is very useful in the conditions of the beginning of a period of intensive pollination of plants.

It is very important to remember to change the filter regularly, as failure to do so may result in more serious problems. A clogged cabin air filter can, for example, damage the ventilation fan motor. It can also cause unpleasant fogging of the windshield.
