Still waiting for your LC300? This hardcore Lexus LX600 Off Road wants to lure you out of your LandCruiser

Lexus LX600 Off Road fits your LC300.

Stuck in line for the LC300? Perhaps there's another option around the corner: Lexus will peel the covers off a hardcore variant of the LX600 called the Off Road edition.

And it's more than just a sticker pack: the luxury-focused sibling of the LC300 is equipped with a bunch of off-road kits and a bunch of extra accessories from JAOS.

The story begins with lightweight front and rear skid plates, 20-inch wheels with Toyo Open Country All Terrain tires, swollen wheel arches and mudguards on every tire.

The custom model will be fully unveiled tomorrow at the Tokyo Motor Show, but it also sounds like more than a concept, as Lexus promises it is "committed to offering a diverse range of products to meet the diverse needs and lifestyles of its customers."

“This collaboration is the result of the desire of both companies to provide customers with a completely new experience,” the brand said in a statement.

Under the hood remains a twin-turbo V600 LX6 delivering 305kW and 650Nm to all four tires, as well as the standard off-road kit found on both the LC300 and Lexus LX.

Also likely to be carried over are the 25-, 20- and 23-degree approach and exit angles respectively, with a maximum fording depth of 700mm, as well as the Lexus Mulit-Terrain Select system, which allows drivers to switch between six driving modes. Auto, Mud, Sand, Mud, Deep Snow and Rock.

But JAOS changes include carbon fiber skid plates, which the brand promises are light and highly rigid, as well as rally-derived ENKEI forged alloys.

Price? Most likely a lot. But for that, we'll have to wait and see.
