• funnel;
• gloves;
• rags;
• clean water to flush the cooling system.

Step by step description

Before carrying out work on replacing the coolant in Nissan Qashqai, you need to install the car on a viewing hole or overpass. Then wait until the internal combustion engine has completely cooled down. In the future, you will need to follow these steps:

1. We get access to the engine compartment by opening the hood;
2. The engine protection and front fenders are dismantled;
3. The cap of the expansion tank is gradually unscrewed until the characteristic hissing noise stops. After that, the cover is finally removed;
4. At this stage, it is necessary to open the fittings to remove air from the cooling system of the Qashqai power unit;
5. On the lower branch pipe, the clamp is loosened with pliers. The clamp moves sideways along the pipe;
6. A container for receiving drainage liquid is installed under the saddle of the lower branch pipe;
7. The hose is removed from the nozzle and antifreeze is drained. The coolant is very toxic, therefore it is necessary to protect the eyes and skin from splashes;
8. After the complete emptying of the cooling circuit, the lower hose connection is installed;
9. At this stage, the Qashqai cooling circuit is cleaned. To do this, clean water is poured into the expansion tank to the level of the maximum mark;
10. Next, the power unit starts up. Allow the engine to warm up before starting the radiator fan, turn off and drain the water. At the same time, assess the degree of contamination of the drained water;
11. The procedure for flushing the cooling circuit of the Qashqai ICE is carried out until clean water appears in the drain, it will be necessary to fix the coupling on the lower pipe with a clamp;
12. New antifreeze is poured. To do this, it is necessary to install a funnel in the neck of the expansion tank and fill the cooling circuit to the top of the tank. In this case, it is necessary to periodically compress the upper cooling tube near the radiator in order to expel air from the system;
13. Ventilation openings are closed;
14. At this stage, the Qashqai engine starts and warms up until the thermostat is fully open. This is necessary in order to fill the large circuit of the power unit cooling system with antifreeze. At the same time, the lower tube near the radiator is periodically tightened;
15. When carrying out work, it is imperative to constantly monitor the temperature of the coolant;
16. The engine is turned off and cooled, the coolant level in the expansion tank is checked. If necessary, topping up is carried out until the required level is reached;
17. The expansion tank cap is installed in its place.
