WOW: Made in Italy electric scooters land in Europe

The Italian company WOW will launch its first electric scooters in the country of origin in a few months. Let's take a closer look at all the features of these new electric two-wheelers.

Designed and made in Italy

Last June, pawnshop startup WOW announced its intention to sell its first two electric scooters in Italy by the end of 2021. Showcased at EICMA in 2019, these electric scooters will be designed and manufactured in their country of origin. WOW also plans to subsequently sell them in other European countries such as France, Spain and Germany.

WOW 774 and 775

Thus, after several delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the startup was finally able to launch its first two two-wheelers in the Italian market. If the WOW 774 and WOW 775 share a few features, the first electric scooter is a model approved in the 50cc (L1e) category. It is less powerful than the second, related to the 125th electric (L3e).

Motor, battery, speed and range of WOW scooters

The WOW 774 is equipped with a 4 kW asynchronous electric motor, which allows it to reach a maximum speed of 45 km / h. The more efficient WOW 775 is equipped with a 5 kW motor. It can reach a top speed of 85 km / h.

Their motors are powered by two removable lithium-ion batteries mounted at the back of the saddle. These 72-volt batteries, which weigh approximately 15 kg, have a capacity of 32 Ah / 2,3 kWh for the WOW 774 and 42 Ah / 3,0 kWh for the WOW 775.

Their charging time is approximately 5 hours for a full recharge, and their range is 110 km for the 774 and 95 km for the 775. Each model has 3 driving modes (Eco, City and Sport).

Capacity, tires and braking

These new electric two-wheelers have 50 liters of under-seat storage. A major advantage because e-scooters often run out of storage space.

Both models, which weigh less than 100 kg (exactly 93 kg for the 774 and 95 kg for the 775), also fit on large 16-inch wheels (100/80 at the front and 120/80 at the rear). They are braked by a double disc hydraulic system with CBS double braking (775 only).

Selling price from 4 to 000 euros.

The WOW 774 is already priced at €4 and the WOW 250 is €775. The warranty for both electric scooters is 4 years.

They will be available in 6 colors: oil green, red, anthracite, electric blue, white and gray. Both models will go on sale from about 2 Italian dealers in the ItalyXNUMXVolt network. In France, the distribution methods have not yet been specified.
