Crunch when braking from the front pads

This morning I had to take the child to the hospital. I went out into the yard, warmed up my car, and after a few minutes, having waited for my wife and son, we drove off. At the very first intersection, with a sharp braking, I heard a terrible crunch and creak from the front left wheel. At first I did not attach much importance to this, I thought that maybe a stone got between the disc and the pads, but after a few meters again pressing the brake pedal, this sound became even stronger.

And then there was no other explanation, except how the brake pads were ordered to live long. I drove into the nearest car store and bought new pads. I came home and decided to immediately start replacing. Of course, due to winter weather it is not very pleasant to do all this, but I didn't really want to give money in the service. Therefore, armed with several keys and a jack, he began to change the pads for new ones. After about an hour, everything was done. After driving a few kilometers, I made sure that the brakes are now excellent and no extraneous sounds are heard anymore.
