Do-it-yourself replacement of a gas pump on a VAZ 2110

If, when you turn on the ignition, you do not hear the sound of a working gas pump, then you may have to change it. Of course, in this case, there is no need to rush, since it is first necessary to check the serviceability and integrity of the fuse, the pump switching relay, as well as all the connection wires. And if after that the problem remains, then most likely you will have to change the fuel pump of your VAZ 2110 to a new one.

So, this procedure is quite easily performed independently and this will require several keys, both open-end and heads. There is a VAZ 2110 fuel pump under the rear seat, which needs to be folded back, and then raise the carpet section, under which there will be access to this device.

As you can see, this cover is attached to several self-tapping screws, which must first be unscrewed with a Phillips screwdriver. After the cover is removed, you can proceed further and disconnect the power plug, as shown in the photo below:

Next, you need to loosen the clamp on the line with a screwdriver, or cut it off with a knife if you have problems:

After that, you will need an open-end wrench, with which we unscrew the two fuel pump fittings:

Now it remains to unscrew the 8 nuts securing the pressure plate, as clearly shown in the photo below:

And then you can safely remove the ring, after which you can pull out the gas pump without any problems:

If it turns out that the device is defective, you need to purchase a new pump. You can buy it in almost any car dealership at a price of about 1500 rubles. Also, it is worth cleaning the mesh if debris or foreign particles are found there.

Installation must be carried out in reverse order using the same tools as for removal.
